The festival kicks off October 9 with inaugural side events leading up to the Major Championship. The 14 Gold Card events span the duration of the series.

The Major Championship features four starting flights: Day 1A begins at 10 a.m. local time on Wednesday, October 15. Days 1B, 1C, and 1D follow on October 16, 17, and 18 respectively, all at 10 a.m.

Survivors of all flights reconvene Sunday, October 19, at 10 a.m. to play down to a winner. Players begin with 40,000 in chips and compete in 40-minute levels.

Among other attractions, the series includes a $300 buy-in Mega Stack boasting a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The Major Championship’s million-dollar guarantee underscores MSPT’s ambition to rival marquee festivals on US online poker sites and in live arenas. Transitioning to an international venue also signals MSPT’s desire to engage players beyond U.S. borders.

Playground’s Rise: High-Stakes Poker at Canada’s Premier Venue

Playground Poker Club, opened in 2010 in Kahnawake, has evolved from a modest poker house to Canada’s top poker destination.

Its close proximity to Montreal and the U.S. border makes it convenient for North American players. Playground has hosted prominent events including World Poker Tour stops, WSOP Circuit festivals, and partypoker LIVE tournaments.

In recent years, it earned the “Poker Room of the Year” award at the Global Poker Awards. The club operates under the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, leveraging sovereignty to foster a flexible regulatory environment.

As MSPT ventures outside U.S. soil for the first time, Playground’s facilities, reputation, and location make it a fitting host. Between the Major Championship and its complementary events, the 2025 MSPT Canadian Poker Championship may become a landmark gathering on both live and digital poker scenes.

Poker enthusiasts on US online poker sites and beyond will watch closely as the series unfolds, eager to see who captures the title and prize.
