Jake Cody Wins SHRPO Main Event, Ends 15-Year Title Drought

Jake Cody Wins SHRPO Main Event

Jake Cody has claimed his first major title in 15 years by winning the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) Championship.

The British poker pro outlasted a stacked field to secure the $510,850 top prize. The victory marks a long-awaited return to the spotlight for one of poker’s most accomplished names.

The SHRPO Main Event attracted hundreds of entrants from around the world, with many earning their seats through satellites on the best online poker sites

Highlights of Jake Cody’s Ascent

Cody started the final day strong, including a massive early hand against Stephen Song. After Song five-bet shoved and Cody called, both players revealed ace-king. The pot ended in a split, keeping the momentum steady.

Serbian pro Andjelko Andrejevic, fresh off a WSOP bracelet win earlier this year, scored the first elimination when his pocket fours held against Jasper Ma’s ace-queen. The board favored Andrejevic, sending Ma home with $106,000 for his third six-figure score of 2025.

Cody claimed his first knockout by winning a flip with pocket jacks against Tray Jones’ ace-queen. A king-high board with a running ten and eight gave Cody a straight, eliminating Jones in sixth for a career-best $138,000.

Scott Wien climbed the counts after a tense clash with Shaun Davis. On a king-high flop, Davis check-raised and called Wien’s shove with a pair and flush draw. A counterfeiting river gave Wien the win, sending Davis out in fifth.

Cody’s ace-jack then held against Andrejevic’s ace-ten in a blind-versus-blind confrontation, eliminating the Serbian in fourth place.

The Final 3

With three players remaining, Cody, Wien, and Song struck a deal to split the remaining prize money, ending official play. Cody took the title and trophy, while both Wien and Song earned payouts exceeding second-place money.

This triumph is especially meaningful for Cody, who became the youngest and fastest Triple Crown Winner in 2011, capturing major titles on the WSOP, EPT, and WPT circuits in under 18 months.

Cody now joins past SHRPO Main Event champions Paul Snead (2024), Farid Jattin (2023), and Sergio Aido (2022) on the tournament’s winners list.
