Boris Kolev has taken the poker world by storm, securing consecutive victories at the World Poker Tour Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open (RRPO) in South Florida. 

The Bulgarian poker professional showcased unmatched skill, claiming two major high roller titles within three days. His remarkable run has captured the attention of poker enthusiasts and solidified his position among the top competitors in the game. 

Kolev’s victories highlight his consistency and strategic mastery, earning him both accolades and a combined prize of $692,000.

Boris Kolev Triumphs in $25,500 RRPO High Roller for $465,900

Kolev capped his week with a stellar performance in the $25,500 RRPO high roller, taking home $465,900 and his second guitar pick trophy of the festival. Outlasting a competitive field of 51 entrants, he defeated Max Neugebauer heads-up in an intense finale. 

Brandon Wilson, a dominant force with previous $25,500 and $50,000 high roller victories at this venue, entered the final table with a significant chip advantage. Despite Wilson’s lead, Kolev navigated crucial hands expertly, executing key eliminations and clutch plays to seize the lead.

The final table featured a stacked lineup, including recent PGT Poker Masters champion David Coleman (4th) and WSOP bracelet winner Justin Liberto (5th). 

Thomas Boivin and Brock Wilson also made deep runs, but none could match Kolev’s precise and aggressive strategy. 

Kolev and Neugebauer briefly considered a heads-up deal but ultimately played for the title, with Kolev emerging victorious.

Defeating WSOP Bracelet Winner Alex Keating in the $10,000 Event

Earlier in the week, Kolev had already demonstrated his dominance by winning the $10,000 buy-in event. He faced a tough heads-up battle against WSOP bracelet winner Alex Keating, ultimately securing the win and $226,100 in prize money. 

Kolev skillfully eliminated key competitors, including Clemen Deng in third place and Cherish Andrews in fourth. His calculated aggression and timely all-ins allowed him to build a commanding chip lead that he maintained through the final hands. 

This victory marked the first of his back-to-back wins and set the tone for his subsequent $25,500 triumph.
