Anthony Kastelic Wins 2025 MSPT Riverside Main Event

Anthony Kastelic claimed victory at the 2025 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Riverside Main Event, capturing the title and $115,559 top prize. 

The event drew a talented field filled with MSPT regulars and Hall of Famers, making Kastelic’s win all the more impressive. His steady play and fearless aggression helped him outlast 888 total entries in a grueling three-day battle at the Riverside Casino in Iowa.

From the opening day, Kastelic built a solid stack and maintained momentum through each level. As the tournament reached the final table, he continued to apply pressure, showing confidence against some of the most seasoned names in the MSPT circuit.

Kastelic entered the final table with a healthy chip stack and wasted no time asserting dominance. The eliminations came swiftly, with Greg Sessler being the first to fall in ninth place for $10,455. Justin Coliny followed shortly after, earning $13,207 for his eighth-place finish.

Veteran Bruce Fagan exited in seventh for $17,059, while Jeff Copeland’s deep run ended in sixth, good for $22,011. Bohdan Slyvinskyi and Kou Vang, both known for their strong MSPT showings, bowed out in fifth and fourth, taking home $29,165 and $38,520, respectively.

Three-handed play saw Max Havlish make a push for the title before falling in third for $51,726, setting up an exciting heads-up showdown between Kastelic and two-time MSPT Player of the Year Aaron Johnson. 

The duel was tense, but Kastelic’s aggression paid off. In the final hand, Kastelic sealed the win and secured 1,700 Player of the Year points, while Johnson earned $70,993 and 1,500 POY points for his runner-up finish.

MSPT Season 16 Nears Its Finale

The Riverside stop marks another exciting chapter in Season 16 of the MSPT. Several MSPT Hall of Famers made deep runs this year, adding prestige and experience to an already competitive field.

Only two stops remain in Season 16. Next up is the 12 Gold Card MSPT Festival at Ameristar East Chicago, taking place from November 18 to 23. 

The season will conclude with the Winter Poker Classic Series at Minnesota’s Running Aces Casino from December 2 to 14. The event features 18 Gold Card events, including a $1,110 buy-in, $500K GTD Main Event from December 4 to 7.
