A Brief History of the WSOP Circuit Tour

The WSOP Circuit Tour began in 2005 to extend the excitement of Las Vegas-based WSOP events to regional locations. Since its inception, it has grown to include hundreds of tournaments and countless Circuit rings.

Many players have used these stops as a launchpad to WSOP success. Online qualifiers have also grown in importance, making US online poker sites a crucial gateway for emerging talent.

Unlike the bracelets awarded at the WSOP, the WSOP Circuit honors its champions with distinctive WSOP Circuit rings. These rings symbolize more than just a victory: they mark inclusion among the Circuit’s elite winners. Importantly, these grant invitations to compete at the prestigious WSOP Circuit Championship.

Many of today’s top poker professionals began their careers on the Circuit, using these events as a springboard to greater success. Notably, three-time WSOP bracelet winner Alex Foxen won the very first WSOP Circuit event he entered at Harrah’s (now Caesars) New Orleans in 2012, long before he became one of the world’s best players.

With the 2026 schedule confirmed, players can plan their year strategically. The inclusion of Texas as a first-time host and international stops highlights WSOP’s commitment to accessibility.

The poker community eagerly anticipates a tour filled with thrilling hands, memorable wins, and historic moments.
