It was a split in Dallas as both the Stars and the Oilers each won a game. Now we head to Edmonton as the Oilers will try to defend home ice and take control of this series.
The Oilers played really well at home this year and the Rogers Place will be rocking tonight. It was huge for Edmonton to steal a game in Dallas with the hopes of winning both home games to take a 3-1 series lead.
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will be out there looking for blood. That top power play in the league will be hoping to take the ice tonight. Dallas allowed the least number of penalties per game this year though, so we’ll see about that.
Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner will be in net tonight. He has only allowed 2 goals in each of the first 2 games but has been tested. Game 1 did end in double OT, so it was anyone’s game to win.
Dallas comes in looking to play spoiler and get a big road win

Dallas is the number 1 seed out of the Central and in the Conference Finals while STILL being doubted. This team has a lot of veteran leadership and rookie talent.
Guys like Joe Pavelski and Tyler Seguin want this really bad while young guys Jason Robertson and Wyatt Johnston want it for them. This team is strong top to bottom and on both sides of the ice.
Staying out of the penalty box is a huge piece for this team. Their offense firepower was top 5 in the league for goals scores and shooting percentage. Their power play ranked 6th, so just missed.
Goalie Jake Oettinger has been great for this team. He has faced a lot of shots in the 1st 2 games of this series but shown proven for the test. If he can continue to keep the goals low, then the Stars have a serious chance.

I know everyone is really liking Dallas but give me the Oilers. Back at home where they are comfortable, I think we see a game where Edmonton controls the whole time.
Expect the Oilers to come out fast and early looking to score. Edmonton needs to not commit stupid penalties to help themselves out. They also could use some luck to get on the power play because Dallas plays smart hockey.
Skinner is going to need to keep playing well. If he can keep the Stars to no more than 2 goals again, then he is doing his job. The Oilers need to find the back of the net 3 to 4 times tonight and I think being at home, the crowd will help out.
Nugget: Jake Oettinger has had 28+ saves in each of the first 2 games and his line is set at 27.5 saves. I like this a lot because it is also valued at -102.
