We’re going to the commonwealth of Pennsylvania tonight. The Minnesota Wild are in town to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena. These two teams met last month, and the Penguins came away with a 4-1 win.
Pittsburgh is 10-5-4 this season and third in the Metro Division. They come into this game off a win over the Predators on Sunday by a score of 4-0. The Pens are 4-3-3 in their last ten and 5-2-1 at home this year.
Offense has been pretty good for Pittsburgh so far. They rank eighth in goals scored even though they rank nineteenth in shots on goal per game. The Penguins have the best power play in the league, converting 34% of the time.
Like their power play, they have a good penalty kill that ranks fourth best in the league. Pittsburgh allows a good number of shots on goal per game but is second best in goals allowed per game. Goalie Arturs Silovs is expected to get the start. He is 4-2-4 this year with a 2.44 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

Minnesota looks to make it four in a row on the road tonight in Pittsburgh

Penguins center Sidney Crosby tries to get the puck from Wild defenseman Brock Faber.
The Wild are 10-7-4 to start the year and are fifth in the Central Division. They come into this game on a three-game winning streak after a shootout win over the Hurricanes on Wednesday. Minnesota is 7-2-1 in their last ten games, but only 3-4-1 on the road.
It’s been a nice road trip for the Wild so far. Their offense hasn’t been that spectacular this season but they’re getting the job done. They rank twenty fifth in goals scored and fifteenth in shots on goal per game. The Wild have a dangerous power play that ranks fourth best in the league.
On defense, they play smart hockey. They rank second in the league for least number of penalties per game. Minnesota That’s really good for them because their penalty kill is terrible, ranking in the bottom of the league.
In net, we’re expected to see Filip Gustavsson. He is 5-7-2 this year with a 2.99 GAA and a .897 save percentage. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Wild vs. Penguins picks.

Minnesota looks good right now and hard to pick against them. They haven’t been as good on the road as at home, but this has been a great road trip. I think this is the turn they needed to really kick things into gear and could end this road trip on a high note.
They took down three great teams in the Canes, Knights and Ducks. All hard opponents that they stole a win from. I don’t see why it doesn’t happen again tonight in Pittsburgh. This is also a nice revenge spot for the Wild after getting dog walked by the Pens last month.
Give me Kirill Kaprisov to get 4 or more shots on goal. He hit this a month ago, is coming off a miss and had 6 and 9 shots on goal the two games prior. I like for him to keep it going and also score a goal like last game. He had a goal vs. the Knight two games ago.
