We have one game on the slate, but we have you covered. The Dallas Stars head to Canada to take on the Edmonton Oilers. This is the second time these two teams will face each other, and the Stars won the first game 4-3.
Dallas is 13-5-4 this season and second in the Central Division. They come into this game off a loss to the Flames in a shootout on Saturday. The Stars are 7-2-1 in their last ten games and an impressive 7-1-3 on the road.
Their offense has been really good. Dallas ranks ninth in the league for goals scored. They only rank twenty sixth in shots on goal per game, but have a shooting percentage of 12.3%, which is third best in the league.
Special teams, as I like to call it, is lopsided on this team. They have the second best powerplay in the league, but the twenty fifth penalty kill. Dallas can be a little sloppy and commits almost five penalties per game.
On defense, they’ve been holding it down between the pipes. Goalie Jake Oettinger is expected to get the start. He is 9-4-2 this season with a 2.72 GAA and a .902 save percentage.

Edmonton looks to build off Saturday’s big win over the Panthers

Oilers forward Connor McDavid looks to the crowd after scoring a goal vs. Dallas last year.
The Oilers are 10-9-5 to start the year and are sixth in the Pacific Division. They come into this game off a win over the Panthers on Saturday. Edmonton is 4-4-2 in their last ten games and 5-1-2 at home.
That was a nice 6-3 win vs. the team that beat them in the Finals the past two seasons. You know they had the game circled on the calendar. They wasted no time scoring three goals in the first period. Florida got the game to 4-3 at the end of the second, but the Oilers sealed the game in the third.
Offense has been getting the job done for Edmonton. They only rank fourteenth in the league in goals scored and shots on goal per game. Like Dallas, the Oilers are really good on the power play, ranking third.
Goaltending has been an issue. The defense has been working, ranking tenth best for shots on goal allowed per game. But leaky isn’t even the word for their goalies. The team ranks fourth worst in the league for goals allowed per game.
In net, goalie Stuart Skinner is expected to start. He is 8-6-3 this season with a 3.00 GAA and a .885 save percentage. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Stars vs. Oilers picks.

I’m going with the Stars for the bounce back game. Them also being at plus money is extremely attractive. This should be a great spot for the Dallas offense to put a bunch in the back of the net on Skinner.
The Stars offense can compete right up there with the Oilers, but their defense is better. If Skinner can’t hold them back, this game could get ugly. Dallas does need to play a smart game and not commit five penalties as well.
We’re taking Jason Robertson to the sun in this game. He has 10 goals in his last six games and has 14 points in those six games. Robertson is on another planet, hitting his shots in all six games with five games having five or more shots on goal. We’ll be taking his shots and for him to score a goal.
The other play I like is Connor McDavid to record 2 or more points. He has cooled off recently, only hitting once in his last four games. I like this spot at home for him to hit that line and wouldn’t be surprised if it’s two apples, if you want to sprinkle.
