The Senators are 24-18-4 this season and are 4th in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a 2-game winning streak. This team is 5-3-2 in their last 10 games and 12-11-2 on the road.

This team has the players to have a powerful offense but are mediocre this season. They rank 22nd in goals scored but are 8th in shots on goal per game. Their power play is decent, ranking 11th in the league. Special teams are extremely important in hockey, although not talked about as much.

Defensively this team is good. Ottawa ranks 6th in the league for goals allowed and 1oth for shots on goal allowed per game. Their penalty kill isn’t bad, ranking 16th in the league. This will be key for them as they haven’t had much success vs Shesterkin.

The Rangers need to turn it around and at home is a good bounce back spot. They are definitely the better team on paper than the Sens and their goalie has the track recorded as well. We should see a slug fest, but I like the Rangers to come out on top.

For whatever reason, Shesterkin has this team’s number. In his 4 wins vs the Sens, he’s allowed only 1 goal in 3 of the games and had a shutout in the other. Pretty good history for me to even debate on taking the shutout!

If the Rangers can get an early lead and get the crowd going, this should be a good one for them to take. With the number of shots the Sens take, I like Shesterkin to record 26+ saves tonight. He faced 40+ shots in the last game he played vs Ottawa.

I also like for Mika Zibanejad to record 1 point for -111. He has recorded one in his last 7 out of 10 games and coming off a game with a point after missing 3 games straight. He is facing his former team where he’s had a point in 9 out of his last 10 games vs them.
