The defending champs are back in action on the road tonight. The Florida Panthers will play the Detroit Red Wings at the Little Caesars Arena. Both teams are playing well, so we should have a nice one on our hands.

Florida is 3-1-0 this season and just suffered their first loss on Monday to the Flyers. They won their previous three in a row and Bobrovsky was a big reason why. Bob is 3-0-0 with a 1.68 GAA and a .925 save percentage to start the season.

This team is filled with talent all around. They are without Matthew Tkachuk but still have plenty of guys to fill the void. Florida has 6 guys with 3 or more points already and a handful more with 2 points. The Panthers power play has been good, converting 35% of the time.

On defense, they have a great penalty kill where they haven’t allowed a power play goal yet. Florida is also only allowing 22 shots on goal per game and 2.5 goals per game. Bobrovsky will get the start which gives them a great chance to win.

Detroit will look to make it three in a row at home tonight

Detroit is 2-1-0 to start the year and come into this game off a big divisional win vs. the Leafs on Monday. They’ve won their last two games and looking to make it a third. It has been a good team effort to start for the Wings.

All the big guns have been doing their part. Larkin has two goals and an assist, Patrick Kane has a goal and three assists, and Alex DeBrincat has four assists.

Larkin started off the scoring last game and then they took a two-goal lead early into the third. They blew the 2-0 lead but got the game winner with 45 seconds left on the clock with a goal by Mason Appleton.

Goalie Cam Talbot played well, saving 38 of the 40 shots he faced. He is expected in net tonight as well. Could be an under-type game with two good goalies, but we’ll see. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Panthers vs. Wings picks.

I think the Panthers win, just not sure by how much. One thing I definitely think we see is goals and we’re going to root for them. Give me the total over 5.5 goals for -128 for tonight’s game.

Florida should get on the board multiple times. Despite Detroit’s average of over 3 goals scored per game, I think Bob holds them to one or two goals and we see four or more from the Panthers. They will strike first and early to get this thing going.

The other thing that works in our favor is if Bob has a bad game and lets three or four in. Even though it’s a little juiced, I like Sam Reinhart for 3 or more shots on goal for -148. I think it’s worth the juice for the way he’s been shooting since the season started.

Another play I’ll be on is Cam Talbot over saves. The line should come out around 26-28 for -125 and he should see 30 or more. Florida is going to try and control the game, which I think they will, and pepper the net. Talbot is coming off a 38 save performance as well.
