We’re heading to the last game on the slate in Sin City. The Florida Panthers will take on the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena. These two teams have already faced off this season, and the Panthers won 3-0.
Florida is a surprising 7-7-1 to start the year and seventh in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a loss on Saturday to the Sharks. The Panthers are 4-5-1 in their last ten games and 2-6-0 on the road.
It’s been an interesting start for the two-time defending champs. Newest member from last year Brad Marchand leads the team with 10 goals and 6 assists so far. Florida is without stars Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov to start the season, but he will be back this year.
Their offense is ranking towards the bottom of the league for goals scored and middle of the league for shots on goal per game. Florida’s power play is twentieth and their shooting is third worst in the league. Defense has been better though, ranking second best in shots on goal allowed and thirteenth in goals allowed per game.
Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to get the start. He is 7-4-0 this season with a 2.74 GAA and a .887 save percentage. Bob looks decent to start off and we know can really lock in as the season progresses.

Vegas looks to break two game losing streak tonight at home

Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel passes the puck around Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad.
The Knights are 7-3-4 this season and second in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a two-game losing streak after a loss to the Ducks in overtime on Saturday. Vegas is 5-3-2 in their last ten games and 4-2-2 at home this year.
Tough loss for the Knights on Saturday after a comeback. They scored two goals in the third period to force overtime, but it wasn’t enough. Overtime losses can really kill you in the long run missing that one extra point.
Offensively, the team has been clicking. They rank in the top ten of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. Vegas also does for power play conversion rate. This team dominates the faceoff circle, having the second-best percentage in the league.
They hold it down on defense as well, ranking in the top ten of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. Goalie Akira Schmid has been fantastic and expected to start. He has a 6-1-1 record with a 2.51 GAA and a .901 save percentage.

Give me the Knights in a bounce back spot vs. a team who struggles on the road this season. The home crowd in Vegas is absolutely electric, and I think they play a factor in pumping this team up. Both goalies have been pretty good this year, so I lean the under as well.
It should be a good game, but with the way the Panthers are playing on the road – I think this is all Vegas. This is also a great revenge spot after being shutout about two weeks ago. Watch for Jack Eichel to be involved on cooking this defense.
I like for Eichel to score a goal this game. Getting shutout last game and only having one shot on goal is definitely not going to cut it this time. Eichel leads this offense with Mark Stone out on the IR with a wrist injury.
Bobrovsky’s saves line should be around 26-28 and the Knights should fire the puck. It could be a close one here, but Vegas should be good for 30+ shots. I won’t lie; this one could be a sweaty one!
