The two-time defending champs hit the road tonight. The Florida Panthers will head to Philly to take on the Flyers. These two teams opened the season vs. each other and the Panthers won the game 2-1.

Florida is off to a fire start with a 3-0-0 record. Looks like they are picking up right where they left off from last year’s championship season. They come into this game off a dominate 6-2 win over the Senators on Saturday.

They wasted no time getting on the board right in the first. Brad Marchand started things off 6 minutes in and then another goal followed that period. In the second period, Florida scored right away and then right before the period ended to have a 4-1 lead.

More of the same came in the 3rd period with another two goals. Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky saved 26 of the 28 shots he faced and will be the starter again tonight. The Panthers are rolling with their franchise goalie while he’s hot.

Flyers look to get their first win of the season at home opener

Philly is off to a 0-1-1 start and will look for their first win tonight against the defending champs. They almost got their first win on Saturday vs the Hurricanes but lost in overtime. The team did put three goals in, which is promising.

The Flyers got off to a good start with a 1-0 lead after the first period. Things got away from them in the second period where they allowed three goals and only scored one. They tied it up in the third with a goal by Travis Sanheim to force OT where they lost.

Owen Tippett got the first goal of that game which was his first of the season. Travis Konecny has yet to score as well as newly added Trevor Zegras. Sean Couturier and Jaime Drysdale both have yet to record a point.

I could be buying in the bait but give me the Panthers on the moneyline. We’re going to pay some juice here but it’s not that bad considering they’re playing the Flyers. Florida should come into this game flying and hot.

The Panthers should get on the board early and first. I think they take a lead and never lose it. Their offense if top tier and can take over quickly. If Bob is on point, this could possibly a shutout if you want to sprinkle the Bob shutout.

One pick I like is Sam Reinhart to get 3 or more shots on goal. He has hit it in all 3 games this season and just scored in his last game. I expect him to not only score again, but to fire the puck and hit this line for us.

Then I like for Brad Marchand to also get his 3 or more shots on goal. He’s coming off a miss, but this game should be a good one for him to shoot. Marchand has scored in each of his last two games as well.
