NHL Knights vs Oilers Picks and Odds, May 10, 2025

After a crazy Game 2, we head to Edmonton for Game 3. The Oilers pulled off an overtime win after the Knights made a comeback in the 3rd period. Let’s get into a little recap and then the Knights vs Oilers picks.

The Knights got on the board early scoring in the 1st period. Edmonton came roaring back in the 2nd period with 2 straight goals. Vegas buried one not too long after to make it a 3-2 game going into the 3rd period.

In the 3rd, the Oiler put 1 right up, less than 2 minutes into the period. It gave them another 2 goal lead, but they would lose it again as the Knights came back and tied it at 4 apiece.

Overtime was a battle and almost went to a 2nd one, but Connor McDavid got some open space and went flying into the offensive zone. When he has Leon Draisaitl coming down the wing, we all know how that’s going to go, and it did. The Oilers sneaked out the 5-4 win to take the big 2-0 series lead.

Can Vegas make the comeback and go back home tied up?

There’s a lot of work to be done on the Knights side. They need to play better defense and protect Hill to stand a chance against this Oilers offense. The Knights have shown they can score, but Hill has been really leaky, so he needs help.

Getting Pavel Dorofeyev back would be huge for the Knights. Jack Eichel has been dishing the puck nicely, but it wouldn’t hurt to see him put one in the back of the net. Any spark they can get, they’ll take considering their position in the series.

I do think they still stand a chance. Vegas was quietly one of the best teams in the league this year and shouldn’t be counted out so quickly. We watched what Edmonton did in the finals last year, so there’s a chance they fall short again.

The Oilers have also been playing from behind for multiple games, which is something the Knights should take advantage of and keep them out of the offensive zone. It’s going to be a battle, but let’s see if the Knights can make the comeback.

Tough to pick against the Oilers in this position back at home for the 1st time this series. Rogers Place will be rocking tonight, and the boys should thrive. Both teams played well this season at home or on the road, so you never know.

I like for the Oilers to fly through this game and win with their speed like overtime of Game 2. The Knights have shown they can hang around, but they need to get a multiple goal lead on these guys to stand a chance. I don’t think we see that this game.

Expect the Oilers to come out fast and get on the board first. They blew 2 goal leads in Game 2, but I think playing at home will help boost them from slipping again. McDavid and Draisaitl need to find their groove to really put this team ahead, which is looks like they may have found it at the end of Game 2.

I don’t really like any player props for this game. The ones that have been hitting are really juiced and not worth playing. I lean the over in this game as both teams have shown they can get passed the opposing goalie. Game 1 just fell short, but I think we see more of Game 2.
