West Coast late night games are always fun. Tonight, the Vegas Golden Knights will take on the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. These two teams met two weeks ago, and the Ducks walked away with a 4-3 win in overtime.
Anaheim is 13-7-1 this season and first in the Pacific Division. All the young, raw talent plus some veterans has really taken this team off. They come into this game off a loss to the Senators on Thursday night and are 6-4-0 in their last ten games. The Ducks are also 7-2-0 at home this year.
This team’s offense has been just straight crazy. They rank third in the league for goals scored and fourth in shots on goal per game. The Ducks shooting percentage is ninth in the league, and their power play conversion is only fifteenth in the league.
They do have seven losses and it’s for a reason. Anaheim is extremely leaky, ranking toward the bottom of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. They also commit almost six penalties a game while only killing off 75% of them.
Goalie Lukas Dostal is expected to get the start. He is 10-5-1 so far this year with a 2.81 GAA and a .904 save percentage. This is Dostal’s third year as the team’s starting goalie.

Vegas will try to make it three in a row vs. the Ducks tonight

Vegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl gets free and takes the puck up the ice to the offensive zone.
The Golden Knights are 10-4-6 to start and second in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after beating the Mammoth on Thursday. Vegas is 4-3-3 in their last ten games and 5-1-3 on the road.
This team has historically been a good road team. The offense has been buzzing for the Knight, ranking only fourteenth in goals scored but eighth in shots on goal per game. They also have the eighth best power play in the league.
Vegas has good defense and plays smart hockey. They rank ninth for goals allowed and third for shots on goal allowed per game. The Knights commit about four penalties per game and kill of about 80% of them.
In net, we should expect to see Akira Schmid. He is 9-1-2 this season with a 2.33 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Knights vs. Ducks picks.

This is going to be great watching the two top teams in the Pacific. Last game definitely will leave a taste in each team’s mouth wanting more. After all the goals last game, I’m going the opposite and taking the under 6.5 goals.
Both goalies have looked good, and I think the coaches make adjustments from last game to not allow so many goals. We should see a close game, but I’m thinking like a 3-2 or 4-2 finish with an empty netter.
Dostal will be new to the Knights, but I think they pepper him like they did Mrazek. Give me Dostal to get over his save line which should be around 26-28 saves. The Ducks allowed 39 shots on goal last game vs. the Knights two weeks ago.
Give me Leo Carlsson to score a goal for +195. This kid has been fantastic this season and was the third overall pick two years ago. He had two goals in the last game they played this month, and I don’t see him slowing down. Take his 3 or more shots for +158 as well.
