Our friends in the North will host this one tonight. The Los Angeles Kings will make the trip to take on the Ottawa Senators. This is the first of two meetings this season between the two and both are this month.
Los Angeles is 9-5-4 this season and are second in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a three-game winning streak after an overtime win over the Leafs on Thursday. The Kings are road warriors with an 8-1-2 record and are 6-2-2 in their last ten games.
The offense on this team hasn’t been spectacular, but they’re getting the job done. They rank twentieth in goals scored and ninth in shots on goal per game. Their shooting percentage and power play conversions rank towards the bottom of the league.
Defense is where they make up for it. The Kings rank in the top ten for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. They commit about four penalties per game and kill of 78% of those penalties, which ranks twenty first in the league.
Goalie Anton Forsberg will get the start. He is 2-2-1 so far this season with a 3.54 GAA and a .878 save percentage. Forsberg will definitely be tested tonight vs. the Sens.

Ottawa playing well despite their captain on the injured reserve

Ottawa Senators players celebrate after scoring a goal at home.
The Senators are also 9-5-4 to start the year and second in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a win over the Bruins on Thursday night. Ottawa is 6-1-3 in their last ten games and 6-2-2 at home.
This team has been without their captain Brady Tkachuk for over a month. The star forward is out with a thumb injury, but started skating again Friday, so hopefully his return is in sight. Guys like Tim Stutzle, Drake Batherson and Shane Pinto have stepped up. The team has eight players in double digit point totals.
Ottawa doesn’t shoot much, but they’re accurate, with the fifth best shooting percentage. The offense has found the back of the net plenty, but they’re allowing as many goals as they’re scoring, which doesn’t work. The Senators also have a terrible penalty kill while committing about five penalties per game.
In net, we should see goalie Linus Ullmark. He is 6-4-4 this season with a 3.21 GAA and a .870 save percentage. Ullmark is 2-0-3 in his last five matchups, so he’ll look to get the job done tonight. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Kings vs. Senators picks.

I like the road warriors to keep the win streak going. This Kings defense is a handful, and I can see them shutting down the Senators offense. The Sens have a shot with Forsberg in net, but I don’t think they get there.
The Kings are buzzing right now, so I have to ride the hot hand. You can tell by the line set by the sportsbooks that they’ve even think this will be a close one. Ullmark hasn’t been his same self since leaving Boston and the Kings will pepper him.
Give me Adrian Kempe to get 4 or more shots on goal for +165. I love this play with so much value. He has hit in all three games of this winning streak and the offensive leader of this team. I expect him to continue to fire the puck.
Another play I like is Jake Sanderson to get an assist for +106. He has got one his each of this last two games and has ten assists on the year, second most on the team. I like for the point player to feed someone for a power play point.
