We have a great matchup tonight at the PPG Paints Arena. The Anaheim Ducks are in town to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins. It’s the second time they face off this season, and the Ducks took the first game 4-3.
Anaheim is an impressive 18-10-1 this season and first in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after beating down on the Blackhawks on Sunday by a score of 7-1. The Ducks are 6-4-0 in their last ten games and 7-6-1 on the road.
The young talent is shining bright in Anaheim and are really clicking. Cutter Gauthier, Leo Carlsson and Mason McTavish, but there’s another guy to keep your eye on. Rookie Beckett Sennecke has been fantastic this year with 9 goals and 15 assists and going to be a problem this year.
Their defense has been a little weak though. They rank in the bottom of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. Anaheim also struggles on the penalty kill which is a problem because they commit around five penalties per game.
Goaltender Ville Husso is expected to get the start. He is 4-2-0 this season with a 2.82 GAA and a .875 save percentage. Husso is in net with both Petr Mrazek and Lukas Dostal on the injured reserve.

Pittsburgh will try to put up a good fight tonight vs. Anaheim

Penguins forward Sidney Crosby celebrates after scoring a goal on Ducks goalie Lukas Dostal.
The Penguins are 14-7-6 to start this year and are fourth in the tight Metro Division. They come into this game off a loss to the Stars in a shootout on Sunday. Pittsburgh is 5-2-3 in their last ten games and are 6-4-2 at home.
Offense has been really good on this team. They rank in the top ten of the league for goals scored, power play conversion and shooting percentage. The Pens rank nineteenth in shots on goal per game, but their shooting percentage makes up for it.
The penalty kill is just as good as the power play, ranking fourth best. Pittsburgh ranks seventh in goals allowed per game but allow almost thirty shots per game which ranks in the bottom of the league. At least they haven’t been leaky allowing all those shots.
In net, we’re expected to see Tristan Jarry. He is 9-2-1 this year with a 2.52 GAA and a .913 save percentage. Let’s check out the odds and get into the Ducks and Penguins picks.

You’re giving me the Ducks at even money, and you think I’m passing?? Give me the quackers to get it done on the road. Although they are not the best road team, the Pens aren’t the greatest home team either.
Anaheim has been on fire this season and comes off a great performance. I think they carry the momentum in this game vs. a much tough opponent. We should definitely see come good goaltending, so I lean with the under.
I like for Tristan Jarry to get peppered. Anaheim absolutely fires the puck and just put up over 40 shots on goal in their previous game. The line should come out around 28-29 saves, but he should have well over 30.
A little sneak play is going to be Blake Sennecke to get 2 or more shots on goal for -120. He is coming off back-to-back games with 5 and 4 shots on goal and also hit in three of his last four games. The kid has scored in back-to-back games which is worth the sprinkle at +310.
