1. Jakob Chychrun o2.5 SOG +120 on BetOnline:

Jakob chychrun of the Washington Capitals SOG has a ton of value!

Jakob chychrun of the Washington Capitals SOG has a ton of value!

No lightbulbs, no problem. Jakob Chychrun may be lighting his house by candlelight right now, but he is also lighting up goaltenders across the league. The man just signed a mega extension with the Capitals and is riding high. Over the last five games he has hit his 2.5 SOG (shots on goal) line three times, averaging 7 shot attempts a game. And tonight he gets a great target.

The Minnesota Wild are allowing the 4th most shots against to defensemen. In fact, for seasons now they have been leaky to the position. We are getting a nice discount on Chychrun as he has not been extremely consistent at this line. He has hit it 44% of the time this season and 45% of the time over the last 20 games. But with the extra pep in his step I’m willing to take the risk on his shots at plus money value.

Chychrun’s history against the Wild is great too. He has hit in four of his last 6 games against them. In those games he has averaged 7.3 shot attempts. He is only two games removed since his mega contract so Chychrun should still be riding high. Let’s follow this volume and momentum for one of our NHL best bets. The bands will make her dance after all, as Ovechkin sings to Chychrun every pregame.

2. Jani Nyman o1.5 SOG -110 on BetOnline:

Jani Nyman is becoming a value SOG pick!

Jani Nyman is becoming a value SOG pick!

Jani who?! Yes you read that right. Jani Nyman, the 2nd round pick in the 2022 NHL draft has turned some heads for Seattle. While he has only played 7 NHL games, he has done enough to make his way into the top 6 and on the 2nd power play unit. He’s helped give more scoring depth to a team who needs more young talent “cracking” the roster (get it?). And tonight we get a beautiful price on a 1.5 SOG (shots on goal) line.

Nyman has two goals and four points across his seven NHL games. He plays on a line with top center Beniers and top forward Kakko. His large frame lets him help be the bully and trigger man on a line who consists of two solid playmakers. He has hit his 1.5 SOG line in four of the six games he has played, and has hit his 2.5 SOG line in three of those games. He has averaged 4.4 shot attempts across those games as well.

Now with a more prominent role Nyman could become a SOG darling. We get a great price because he is still a relatively unknown player, especially to the books. He also just played a career high of 17 minutes in his last game, four more minutes that his average so far. He is clearly getting more and more looks and getting more comfortable in the NHL, making his SOG a best bet.

3. Patrik Laine point -125 on BetOnline:

Patrik Laine of the Montreal Canadiens is a sniper, making his point a best bet

Patrik Laine of the Montreal Canadiens is a sniper

The Montreal Canadiens have surprised the league as they make a late push for the playoffs. Their offense has helped carry them this far, especially it’s depth. And tonight they take on the team who have allowed the most goals against over the last 10 games, the Philadelphia Flyers.

While the top line for the Canadiens has been red hot, tonight we are going to pivot. After all, players will eventually cool down. And sniper Patrik Laine also have an unreal history against the Flyers. He has a point in four of the last 6 games he has played against them, and hit his SOG prop in all six games. In fact he averages 6.7 shot attempts and 4.5 SOG when playing the Flyers.

Laine’s SOG prop does look great tonight, and it could be added to his point for extra value. But where the Flyers are awful at stopping goals, they are much better at suppressing shots. They allow the 7th least amount of shots against. They also will be playing their first game since releasing their head coach just today. Because of this they may try to play a tight game. But their 4.20 goals against average is too tempting to pass, so we are rolling with Laine’s point as one of our NHL bet bets today.
