1. Carter Verhaghe o3.5 SOG -110 on BetOnline:

Verhaeghe is one of the top volume shooters in the league making his SOG a best bet

Verhaeghe is one of the top volume shooters in the league

Some dudes are born with a silver spoon, others with a silver hockey stick and meant to rip puck. Varhaeghe is the later. For three seasons now Verhaeghe has been one of the top volume shooters in the entire league, becoming a staple to a Florida Panthers team who loves swarming the net and unleashing pucks of fury.

In his last 10 games Verhaeghe has hit his 3.5 SOG (shots on goal) line in 7 games. Over those 10 games he is averaging 8.9 shot attempts per game. Truly insane numbers. Tonight he takes on the New Jersey Devils at home, for the second straight time.

The Panthers hosted the Devils on Tuesday and were taken down by them. You have to expect they will want revenge. And in that game Verhaeghe had 6 SOG off of 12 shot attempts. Last season he was better at home hitting in 45% of all home games. He is on the top line with Barkov so he should get tons of TOI (time on ice). A potential repeat performance makes Verhaeghe’s SOG a NHL best bet. I even love him up to 6 SOGs.

2. Kirill Kaprizov 2+ Points for +100 on BetOnline:

Kaprizov is one of leagues leading scorer making his points a best bet

Kaprizov is one of the leagues leading scorer

Minnesota Wild’s top forward Kirill Kaprizov is lighting the league up. He is 2nd in scoring with 28 points in 15 games. He also has had 10 multi-point games this season and 7 in his last 10 games. He also went pointless in his last game. Bounce back baby.

And what an opponent to bounce back against! Tonight he will play against the Montreal Canadiens at home, a bottom feeder team who are allowing the most goals against this season. They have averaged 4.19 goals against per game and also allow the 7th most power play opportunities to opponents.

That bit about the power plays is especially bad news for the Montreal. The Wild at one point had a top power play unit. And while they now rank 17th in PP% this is a great spot to get it rolling again. It’s shocking Kaprizov is still plus money for multiple points. He has 4 multi-point games against Montreal in the last 6 matches with 11 points in those games.

Kaprizov is in a great spot to rack up points and cash a plus money prop making it an NHL best bet!

3. Thomas Chabot o2.5 SOG +130 on BetOnline:

Thomas Chabot is starting to fire the puck making his SOG a best bet

Thomas Chabot is starting to fire the puck making his SOG a best bet

Chasing a recent trend and an uptick in SOG and shot attempt volume. Thomas Chabot will round out our best bets. When players shoot more it means they have more chances to get a shot on goal. And when you are averaging 7 shot attempts a game, that means there is room for error to hit your SOG prop line. Thomas Chabot has done just that and is just one reason why this NHL player prop looks great tonight.

Chabo has hit his 2.5 SOG prop in three straight games. In his last five games he has averaged 7 shot attempts a game, with no game with less than 6 attempts. This gives him some padding in case a shot goes wide or is deflected. He gets a chance to keep the streak going against a team he loves playing against. Chabot has hit in 5 of his last 7 games against Toronto. In those 7 games he has averaged 6.1 attempts.

Toronto has been tough on shots, especially to defensemen. They have allowed the 4th least to the position this season. But this is a case where the volume and historical match up can’t be missed. Especially at +130 value. This all adds up to Chabot SOG being an NHL best bet tonight.
