The rare reserve sweep happened in our last NHL best bets article. We are now 5-7 on the season and need nothing more than to cash in tonight. This slate is full of mismatches and milestones to capitalize on. So let’s find angles to exploit, mispriced props and ways to tackle the ICE this Tuesday.
We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all playoffs long! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.

1. Brad Marchand 3.5 SOG + a Point +230 on BetOnline:
Brad Marchand will take on his former team for the first time
Let’s just get this one out of the way. All eyes will be on Marchand tonight as the Boston Bruins lifer will play against them for the first time in his career. He missed the opportunity last season after he was traded to the Florida Panthers. But tonight he will not only be celebrated by the Boston fans, but he will remind them all why he is a future Hall of Famer.
You can take his props in so many ways, but I prefer getting a little extra value by taking him at 4 shots on goal and a point. While Marchand has not been a high volume shooter in the past, he has adapted to the ways of the Panthers and has been ripping puck. He is averaging 5.7 shot attempts and 3.4 shots on goal in his 7 games this season. This averaged is brought down by a game where he did not record a shot, and one game where he only had 2 off of 4 attempts. If you remove those games he has had 4+ SOG in five games, including three straight.
You know Marchand would love nothing more than to score on the team he played his entire career in. His goal is an NHL best bet as well, but I will play it safer with his point. You could also look for a multi-point night from the former Bruin. Florida is sliding due to their injuries, dropping three straight games. A revnege narrative would help them get back to their winning ways.
2. Mason McTavish Point -115 on BetOnline:
Mason McTavish opened the season with 5 points through Anaheim’s first five games and is averaging more than 20 minutes per night, a clear top-six, all-situations workload. He also just tied Sunday’s game in Chicago with a 6-on-4 power-play goal—timely production that confirms his PP role. Riding that high he will be coming into Nashville to take on the Predators, a team he has had success against.
In his last 8 games McTavish has 9 points against the Predators. And between his power play usage and his productive offensive line, getting his point at nearly plus money makes it an NHL best bet. The opponent’s special teams are hittable, and they take penalties. Nashville’s penalty kill sits in the low-80s early (≈83%), and they’ve already been on the kill 15 times through six games—opportunities for Anaheim’s top PP unit where McTavish is featured.
Bottom line: with current production, heavy minutes, PP1 usage, a Predators PK that has been merely average so far, and prior success versus Nashville, McTavish to record a point is a solid, logically priced bet for tonight.

3. Robert Thomas + Jake Neighbours Point +160 on BetOnline:
Rob Thomas was the Blues’ top point producer last season
In the 2024-25 season, Thomas tallied 21 goals and 60 assists for 81 points in 70 games, firmly establishing him as the Blues’ offensive engine. This season he has started off slow. He only has two points, which both occurred in the same game. However, he has a favorable matchup tonight and is sitting at 398 career points. He should be motivated to get on the board, along with his linemate Jake Neighbours.
The Kings’ defensive structure has shown vulnerability to quick transitions and odd-man rushes — areas in which both players can thrive. They have allowed the 3rd most goals against, averaging 4 GAA/GP this season. Their goaltending, special teams and defensive core is not up to snuff. They are also without top shutdown center Anze Kopitar, leaving them more vulnerable to opponents top scorers.
Neighbours has shot the puck well early in the 2025-26 season: he reportedly scored 4 goals on 6 shots at one point, showing strong finishing efficiency and confidence.Thomas’s role as the primary playmaker + Neighbours’s role as a shooter/finisher creates synergy, allowing for a lethal top line. Without Kopitar this line will be difficult to handle, making their point stack an NHL best bet.
