Nashville Predators vs Vancouver Canucks, Game 2 Best Bets: Will the Predators Bounce Back?

The Canucks host the Predators in Rogers Arena tonight

The Predators and Canucks face off again in Vancouver tonight for Game 2 of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. We backed the Canucks in Game 1, and thankfully they came through. While the money line hit, the Predators absolutely crumbled in the 3rd period.

Nashville found themselves up 2-1 going into the 3rd, and even held that lead 8 minutes into the period. Then things went way downhill. Vancouver saw two goals in the span of 12 seconds, to equalize and take a one goal lead. From there they never looked back, even getting an empty netter with 90 seconds on the clock.

Will the Predators respond in Game 2? Or will the Canucks take a huge 2-0 series lead?

Will Canucks Capitalize on Nashville’s Downfall?

The Canucks defense came to play last night

Vancouver allowed just 22 shots to the Predators in Game 1

The Canucks were lucky to escape Game 1 with a victory but regardless, they got it done. We only saw 43 total shots from these two teams, with 25 combined blocked shots. Yet somehow 5 goals still found the back of the net past the keepers, with an empty netter as well. Tonight I think we could see something similar.

Vancouver’s defense ranks Top 6 in both SOGs and Shot Attempts Allowed per game. Nashville is much further down the list ranking 23rd in SOGs, but 11th in total Shot Attempts. I lean with the over tonight, but not enough to put my money on it. I also lean with the home team, but after them getting lucky in Game 1, I can’t bring myself to trust them again.

However, I do have a Canucks player that I will be targeting for a point.

Nashville Predators vs Vancouver Canucks Best Player Prop Bets

Brock Boeser Over 0.5 Point (-145) Bovada

Brock Boeser plays very well against the Predators

Boeser plays incredibly well historically against Nashville

All we need is a point from this guy, and I lean with the over already. So why not take a first line/first PP guy to get the job done?

Boeser has a point in 59% of games this season, and that jumps up to 62% at Rogers Arena. He has points in 5 of his L8 games and had one in Game 1 against the Predators, as he assisted on the tying goal. Plus Boeser plays historically well against Nashville.

Including the regular season series, Boeser has a point in 3/4 games against Nashville, and both games at home. He has 16 total points in 17 career games against the Predators, with 2 multipoint games to his name. Against the Predators in his career, Boeser has a point in 13/17 games (76.5%). Taking this one step further, Boeser has points in all but 2 games at home against the Predators.

I think he does the job for us tonight.
