Los Angeles Kings vs Edmonton Oilers: NHL Best Bets (5/1)

We are headed to Game 6 back in Edmonton between the Oilers and the Kings. After Los Angeles won the first two at home, the Oilers returned the favor up north. And then Edmonton brought their momentum down to LA where they beat the Kings 3-1 in Game 5, winning a third straight contest, and giving themselves a chance to clinch this series back at home.

Tonight at the Rogers Centre, Edmonton can seal the deal.

Despite a scoreless 1st period and even falling down 1-0 early in the 2nd, the Oilers outshot the Kings on the road 46-22 on their way to a 3-1 victory. Los Angeles is having a hard time containing the Edmonton attack, and I don’t blame them. The Oilers have 37+ shots in three straight contests, and everyone is getting involved.

Will they have the star power to finish things off tonight at home? Or will the Kings come alive on the road and force a Game 7 back in LA?

Best Bets: Oilers in Reg (-102) BetOnline

Give me Edmonton. This team is streaky, they are riding tons of momentum, and they are back at home where they are 25-13-3. The Oilers have already won two games at home against the Kings in this series, and Los Angeles was terrible on the road all season.

The Kings posted a 17-19-5 record on the road, and in the first game after traveling north they lost 7-4, allowing 37 SOGs. They will not be able to afford any jet lag tonight, and they will need to come out screaming. However, I think the Oilers are way too talented and firing on all cylinders at the moment.

Every single line is producing points and contributing to the victories. Obviously the two pictured above are leading the pack with 10 points a piece, but defenseman Evan Bouchard is leading Edmonton in postseason shots and goals so far. It’s very tough to stop this Oilers team when they have a defenseman leading them in goals, considering McDavid and Draisaitl are much bigger threats.

If Edmonton loses this game, they have to go back to Los Angeles, giving the Kings momentum and home ice for the final matchup. Much like the Capitals last night and the Canes over the weekend, you need to finish the job at home. Put the nail in the coffin, and end this team’s season for a 4th straight year.

I thought long and hard about the puck line, but decided to go down screaming my favorite last words… “In Reg”….

Ride with me as the Oilers advance to the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
