The Eastern Conference Finals are down in Sunrise for Game 3 tonight. The Florida Panthers get a turn at hosting the Carolina Hurricanes, after beating them twice on the road. So much for that home ice advantage at the Lenovo Center all season long. It sure didn’t come into play when it mattered.
The Ice Cats absolutely dominated both games in Raleigh to start this series. They took down the Hurricanes 5-2 the first night, even though they were outshot 33-20. But then in Game 2 they shutout their hosts. Sergei Bobrovsky saved every shot he faced, and the Panthers went on to win 5-0 and take a two game series lead.
Again, the Panthers only mustered up 21 shots on goal, but they limited the Canes to just 17 total, half of what Bob saw in the first meeting. Now, with a two game lead, they are back at home and will certainly try to end things before traveling again. But can Carolina fight to extend this series by stealing one of these two matchups in Sunrise?

I had faith in Carolina going into this series, but it is gone now. The Ice Cats are red hot, they’ve been in this position before and had much better success. And tonight, I see them getting one step closer to another Stanley Cup Finals.

The Canes are done. Absolutely finished. They are completely lifeless, and the Cats are more than equipped to take them down. Florida continues to improve throughout the postseason. They have a goaltender that is stopping everything that comes his way, and multiple options on both ends of the puck.
Florida has had 11 skaters contribute at least a point this series, and Brad Marchand is not on that list. If someone isn’t playing well, the Cats have many other players who are capable of stepping up and leading the team to victory. I don’t hate the ML if you want to pay (-146) juice, I also endorse the in regulation as well for plus money.
But in my mind, the best bang for your buck is the puck line. The Panthers won’t give Carolina any hope at all. This team is going to take them down in dominant fashion at home, destroying any motivation for Game 4 on Monday. The Cats are aren’t going to mess around with their prey. Destroy them tonight, end it next time out, and then sit back and rest while the other conference dukes it out.
Give me the hosts to win this game. I like their ML, their TT, in reg, the PL, however you want to back Florida is a go for me. I see the offense coming alive at home, the defense staying rock solid, and Bobrovsky to continue to be Playoff Bob. Go Ice Cats tonight.
