Dolphins vs Colts NFL Week 7 Predictions & Picks (10/20)
The Dolphins losing streak ended at three games last week with a 15-10 victory over the lowly New England Patriots. It seemed like Miami was in danger of potentially losing the game until running back Alec Ingold scored a three-yard touchdown with four minutes remaining in the game.
Meanwhile, the Colts picked up their third victory in four weeks with a 20-17 win against the Tennesee Titans on the road. QB Joe Flacco went 22-of-38 for 189 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception while WR Josh Downs hauled in seven of those completions for 66 yards and a score.
The Colts now return to Lucas Oil Stadium, where they’re 2-0 SU with a plus-4.0 average scoring margin in their last two home games. Even though the Dolphins just beat the Patriots on the road, that might not mean much given that they’re 5-11 SU across their last 16 road games dating back to the 2022 NFL season.
Indianapolis is also 7-2 SU across its last nine meetings with the Dolphins, which includes a 27-27 victory when they last met back in October 2021. Conversely, Miami is 2-1 SU on its last three trips to Lucas Oil Stadium.
Do the Dolphins have what it takes to end their poor road luck this weekend?
It wouldn’t be shocking if this game is decided by both team’s performance under center.
With Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson still banged up, the Dolphins will likely roll with Tyler Huntley as their starting QB again. In two 2024 starts, the 26-year-old veteran has completed 60.4% of passes for 290 yards and an interception while also turning 11 carries into 47 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Even though Flacco has been playing well for the Colts, Anthony Richardson is probably returning to the lineup on Sunday. The ex-Florida product has struggled with productivity in Year 2, going just 39-of-77 (50.6%) in the pocket for 654 passing yards, three TDs, and six INTs. He’s still averaging 5.3 yards per carry on the ground, though, meaning the Dolphins can’t afford to give him too much space.

As the hotter team at the moment, I’m taking the Colts to win. They’ve been playing well lately and have back-to-back wins at home, whereas the Dolphins have struggled outside of Miami for years now. Indianapolis is also 7-1 SU in its last eight games as the favorite whereas Miami is 3-13 SU as the underdog dating back to the 2022 campaign.
Even if the Colts don’t have the best ATS record vs. the Dolphins lately, the latter is too banged up to keep things close. Take the home team to cover the spread.

I’m taking Anthony Richardson to throw for o0.5 interceptions (-130) for the best Dolphins vs. Colts Week 7 player prop.
While the Colts QB boasts potential, it’s hard to ignore his giveaway problem. Richardson has thrown seven INTs in his first NFL starts, which includes six picks in four appearances this season. He finished with at least one INT in each of his first three 2024 starts and potentially would’ve had another in Week 4 had he played more than only 13 offensive snaps.
Even though the Dolphins’ defense is far from perfect, they have three INTs in their last three games. If Richardson’s decision-making ability hasn’t improved since we last saw him, it won’t be shocking if his giveaway problem persists.
