The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are less than two weeks away from colliding at Super Bowl 58. Betting News is covering everything you need to know leading up to the NFL’s biggest game of the year and now it’s time to turn our attention to one of the biggest parts of the Super Bowl betting experience: prop bets.

For those unfamiliar with prop (also known as ‘proposition) bets, they’re quite simple. Rather than focusing on the outcome of a game, prop bets reflect the little things in between. For example, ‘How many touchdowns will the Chiefs record?” or ‘Will Travis Kelce score an anytime touchdown?” In other words, pretty much anything can be a prop bet.

With a plethora of options available over the coming weeks, let’s take a look at four Super Bowl 58 bets that are worth locking in right now.

Super Bowl Prop Bet #1: Christian McCaffrey u5.5 Targets (-115)

Super Bowl 58: 4 NFL Prop Bets Worth Locking in NOW!

Christian McCaffrey is, arguably, the best running back in the NFL and a key reason why the 49ers are even playing in Super Bowl LVIII. However, while the dual-threat rusher is known for his pass-catching abilities, I’m leaning towards the Under on his 5.5-target total.

For starters, between the regular season and playoffs, McCaffrey is “only” averaging 5.3 targets per game. He’s finished with the Under in more games (14) than he hasn’t (5), which includes finishing with five or fewer receptions in five of his last seven contests — including when he only saw a quintet last week. Additionally, he’s finished with the Under in seven of nine outings away from Levi’s Stadium this season.

If that isn’t convincing enough, the Chiefs allow the 13th-fewest targets to running backs. With Super Bowl 58 projected to be a close-fought affair, I see the 49ers handing the ball off to McCaffrey more often than they throw it his way unless they somehow fall behind by a large margin.

McCaffrey is too good for his presence not to be felt in Las Vegas — just don’t expect that to happen through the air.

Super Bowl Prop Bet #2: Length of National Anthem by Reba McEntire — u86.5 Seconds (+110)

This year’s national anthem will be performed by none other than the “Queen of Country’ Reba McEntire. As usual, football enthusiasts and NFL bettors alike are wondering just how long it’ll take the award-winning singer to get through the anthem. Although the Over is currently favored, I’m backing it to go under 86.5 seconds.

It only takes a brief YouTube search to find that McEntire’s anthems typically last less than 86.5 seconds. She lasted about 80 seconds in 1984, around 85 seconds in 1997, and even clocked in at about 81 seconds at a 2017 performance.

Considering how easy it was to find the above performances, I’m shocked that you can grab the Under on this prop at +110 odds. I do not doubt that the line will start to move once more and more people pick up on McEntire’s anthem trend.

In other words, lock this prop in while the Under is still as juicy as it is.

Updated as of Feb. 9: Under 90.5 seconds (-120)

Super Bowl Prop Bet #3: Most Receptions — Travis Kelce (+150)

Super Bowl 58 features several of the NFL’s best pass-catchers, including Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Rashee Rice. With that in mind, I’m taking one of the best tight ends of all-time — Travis Kelce — to record the most receptions.

Kelce is one of the league’s best postseason performers and he proved that at the AFC Championship Game, catching every single one of his targets for a game-high 11 receptions.

While playing in the Super Bowl can be intimidating to some players, the veteran TE has already been there three times. He caught 22-of-27 targets (81.4%) in those games for an average of 7.3 receptions and even finished with the most catches in one of them while finishing second twice.

By now, everyone knows how much Patrick Mahomes looks to Kelce in the most important games and I don’t expect any different in Las Vegas next month. With girlfriend Taylor Swift potentially in attendance, too, expect Kelce to do everything he can to put on a show.

Super Bowl Prop Bet #4: Isiah Pacheco First Touchdown Scorer (+500)

For the last Super Bowl LVIII prop you need to lock in, I’m feeling a bit risky. While taking Isiah Pacheco to be an anytime touchdown scorer is a valid prop, I’m juicing things up by projecting him to score the first TD in Las Vegas.

Pacheco has been one of the league’s most consistent TD scorers between the regular season and playoffs, racking up 12 total scores across 17 games. He’s tallied seven touchdowns in his last seven games alone, only being held out of the end zone once during that stretch. Oh yeah, that’s without mentioning how he also scored in Super Bowl LVII last year.

The 49ers have a strong defense, but they’ve also allowed seven rushing TDs in the last six games — including three to the Lions in the NFC Championship Game.

San Francisco also hasn’t been to the Super Bowl in four years, so I expect some nerves to be there — especially with it being QB Brock Purdy’s first appearance. Kansas City, meanwhile, has been there three times since the 2019 campaign and knows how to navigate the field under football’s brightest lights. I wouldn’t be shocked if the Chiefs wind up scoring first and it’s all because of an effort from Pacheco.

After being handled the ball a whopping 24 times against the Baltimore Ravens, Pacheco should see more than enough volume again to put him in a great position to score the first TD.
