Analysis & Breakdown

No Fun in Hotlanta
Absolutely no one is having fun in Atlanta anymore. The offense ranks 26th in points per game, 29th in third down conversion rate, 18th in pass yards per game and 16th in first downs per game. The offense is stagnant, unimaginative and that’s regardless of which QB we’ve seen under center.
The Falcons are 4-8, both Michael Penix and Drake London are out and this week they face a Seahawks team that’s averaging 29.2 points per game. The Falcons have struggled without Penix under center, going 1-2 with Kirk Cousins taking the snaps and averaging just 19.3 points per game.
Cousins is averaging 202.0 pass yards per game this year, completing 66.7% of his passes for three touchdowns and 1 interception. He hasn’t been terrible, but the offense looks significantly slower with him under center.
The Falcons rank 17th this year in points allowed, 25th in opponent rush yards and have struggled to stop teams on third down (19th). This week the Falcons will host one of the best offenses in football and we’ll see if Kirko Bangz and the Falcons can keep up.
Sam’s Seahawks
The Seahawks have won 9 of their 12 games so far this year and sit tied for top spot in the NFC West. The race for the NFC West is tightening up, three of the four teams look like they’ll make the postseason this year and all three already have 9-wins. The Seawhawks offense ranks 2nd in points per game (29.2), 9th in passing yards, 4th in yards per play and 6th in touchdowns per game.
Sam Darnold’s looked elite in his first year with the Seahawks. He’s averaging 242.8 pass yards per game this year, he’s thrown 19 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and has a passer rating of 103.1. He’s top 10 in completion percentage, pass yards, passing touchdowns, passer rating and highly accurate throw percentage. Darnold’s thriving in this Seahawks offense and it’s directly leading to Ws in the win column.
As good as the offense has been, the defense has been just as good. Seattle ranks 3rd in points allowed, 2nd in opponent yards per play, 2nd in opponent rush yards and they rank 4th in sacks this year. The Seahawks also rank 2nd in the NFL in interceptions (13) and have held opponents to just 200.7 pass yards per game (11th).
Sunday’s Best Bets
Jaxson Smith-Njigba o91.5 Receiving Yards (-110) | BetOnline

Jaxson Smith-Njigba is the best receiver in football, this year. He’s got 1,336 receiving yards through 12 games and is now coming off his worst game of the season. Smith-Njigba was targeted just four times in Minnesota, catching two passes for 23 yards in a 26-0 blowout win.
Darnold threw just 26 passes, completed 14 and the Seahawks just didn’t need to pass the ball. This week they face a Falcons team that’s averaging 25.7 points per game over the last three and that should force them to move the ball through the air.
Smith-Njigba is the best rated wide receiver against zone coverage this year and the Falcons run zone at the 9th highest rate in the league. Against zone coverage this year, Smith-Njigba ranks 2nd in targets per route run, 1st in yards per route run, 1st in route win rate and 1st in separation rate.
JSN’s seeing a 35.9% target share, averaging 111.3 receiving yards per game and he’s cleared this line in 10 of the team’s 12 games. He’s seeing a 34.6% target rate against zone coverage and this week he faces a Falcons defense that ranks 16th in receiving yards allowed. Atlanta’s also given up 84+ receiving yards to four of the last six WR1s they’ve faced and this week presents one of their toughest tests yet.
