Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Carolina Panthers NFL Picks

Mike Tomlin has indicated several starters will sit in tonight’s NFL preseason finale
This is the final game for either team before the regular season begins. Will that change the personnel coaches use? Maybe their tactics regarding the entire game overall?
For the Panthers, they are digging deep into their depth chart. Neither Bryce Young or Andy Dalton will see the field in their preseason finale, leaving Jack Plummer and UFL MVP, Bryce Perkins to lead the offense. Carolina has been outscored 50-13 in their opening preseason matches, and clearly they aren’t too concerned if they are sitting their top two quarterbacks in this contest.
For Mike Tomlin’s Steelers, he has only ruled out Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Cam Heyward and TJ Watt. While those studs won’t take the field, he has mentioned we might see the starting Pittsburgh secondary for a few drives. Even if Mason Rudolph sits as well, Skylar Thompson is ready to lead the Steelers to victory.
Let’s check out the betting odds.

Neither Andy Dalton or Bryce Young will see the field tonight for Carolina
Get ready for another NFL Preseason crapshoot of a game, cause that’s what it looks like we will get. The top four QBs (two from each team) will likely sit on the bench, giving some guys who won’t play a real snap this season a few practice reps.
Regardless, I have been targeting unders for the entire preseason, and I don’t see why I should stop now. The Panthers have scored just one touchdown in their opening two games, and I have very little faith in Plummer or Perkins to lead the offense to some scores, especially considering we might see the Steelers’ starting secondary for a bit.
Moving the ball is going to be a problem for both sides in this matchup, and to me, that translates into a very easy under.

Best Bet: Under 35 (-110) BetOnline
No Aaron Rodgers, and likely no Mason Rudolph. No Bryce Young and no Andy Dalton. Skyler Thompson and Jack Plummer are simply not capable of putting points on the board.
We also won’t see DK Metcalf, and likely no Tet McMillan as he nurses an injury in preparation for the season. Again, the point is, who out there is capable of scoring?
Carolina can’t move the ball. The Steelers weren’t able to do so against a decent defense last week, putting up just 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And ultimately, both teams will rely on defense all season long to keep them competitive in games.
I think that begins tonight in Charlotte as we see a sloppy, boring final preseason matchup between the Panthers and Steelers.
