Jets vs. Packers Week 6 Betting: Green Bay Looks to Get Back on Track Against New York at Home

Jets vs. Packers Week 6 Betting: Green Bay Looks to Get Back on Track Against New York at Home cover

Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season is here, leaving fans and bettors with no shortage of exciting games to anticipate. One game that a lot of folks will have their eye on is a showdown between the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers.

Nobody expected much from the Jets this season, but they've exceeded those low expectations. They’ve now won back-to-back games for the first time this season, with their most recent victory coming in a huge 40-17 win against the Miami Dolphins.

Meanwhile, the Packers had their two-game winning streak snapped in a 27-22 loss to the New York Giants in London. It was hardly a pretty game for Green Bay’s offense, which averaged a lowly 4.9 yards per play.

Betting News has gathered the latest Jets vs Packers odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for the NFL Week 6 game.

Have the Packers been disappointing this season? No doubt about it. However, Aaron Rodgers and co. have a great opportunity to bounce back into the win column this week.

For starters, credit should be given where it’s due. The Jets have been solid this season and the fact that they already have three wins should be celebrated among the fanbase.

Having said that, New York only beat the Cleveland Browns by one point, defeated a directionless Pittsburgh Steelers team and just scored a win over Dolphins third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson. As great as it is to win three games, those weren’t exactly the most impressive victories.

Now, the Jets have the difficult task of marching into Green Bay and trying to score a win at Lambeau Field. The bad news for Robert Saleh’s squad is that the Packers are a dominant 16-2 in their last 18 games played in their home stadium, losing one game at Lambeau since the start of the 2021 NFL season.

Meanwhile, the Jets haven’t won in Green Bay since 2006.

There’s also the fact that Zach Wilson hasn’t lived up to the hype that came with being the 2021 NFL Draft’s second overall pick. While the 23-year-old Jets QB is 2-0 this season, he’s only completed 56.1% of his passes for 462 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.

Zach Wilson must start playing better if he hopes to lead his Jets to an upset win in Week 6.

In fact, Wilson wasn’t even too much of a factor in last week’s win as all five of the Jets’ TDs came on the ground. The sophomore gunslinger could be in for a long day against the Packers, who give up the second-fewest passing yards and have recorded 12 sacks (No. 11).

Even if the Jets focus on running the ball, the Packers should be able to stop them. Green Bay’s run defense may have had its ups and downs this season, but the team has surrendered an average of 108.7 rushing yards in its last three games — 14th-best in the NFL over that span.

I also expect the Packers to lead for the majority of the contest, meaning there’s a good chance that the Jets will abandon the run altogether.

Rodgers and the Packers were embarrassed last week, so I expect them to come back with a win on home soil. The four-time NFL MVP hasn’t lost back-to-back starts since the 2018 season, going 57 straight games without achieving that feat.

The Packers should cover the 7-point spread here, especially with the home crowd cheering them on. I’m also backing the over on the 46.5-point total, especially after it was achieved in four of the last six meetings between these two teams.
