Last game of Week 13, we’ve got the New York Giants and the New England Patriots going head to head at Gillette Stadium. This is the latest iteration of the Pats/Giants rivalry and it looks like both teams have the QBs to make this a lot of fun, for a very long time.

Analysis & Breakdown

The Future is Now, Old Man
The New York Giants have found the QB of their future and despite the small sample size, it’s clear Jaxson Dart is that guy. Dart’s started just seven games for the Giants, averaging 202.4 pass yards per game with 10 touchdowns and just just 3 interceptions. He’s completing 62.7% of his passes in his rookie year and he’s done it despite being without the team’s WR1.
Dart’s returning from a concussion this week and the one knock on the young QB has been his disregard for his own health. He’s averaging 45.3 rush yards per game this year and he’s carrying the ball nearly eight times per game. The young QB’s been in the medical tent more times than I can count this year and has to stop.
The Giants offense hasn’t been the issue this year. They average 23.8 points per game with Dart under center and are coming off back to back weeks in which they put up 27 on the Lions and 20 against the Packers with Jameis Winston. The Defense ranks dead last in rush yards allowed and despite big names all over the defensive line, they stink.
New York’s giving up 157.2 rush yards per game and 126.8 per game to opposing backs. They’ll need to tighten up on the front lines if they hope to get a win tonight in Foxborough.
Cold Night at Foxborough
The Patriots currently sit atop NFL Mountain, being the only team currently with 10 wins. The Rams had a chance to become the second yesterday but we all saw how that went. The Patriots have blown teams out, they’ve won close games, they’ve beaten some bad team but they’ve also beat some good team. The Patriots might be back and it might just be easier to accept it.
It’s just year two for Drake Maye, but he’s already looking like one of the best QBs in the league. Maye ranks 3rd in pass yards (3,130) , 2nd in yards per attempt (8.8), 5th in touchdown passes (21) and 1st in completion percentage (71.0%). The kid’s been everything you want out of a QB and more. His 21 touchdown passes are amazing but only amplified by the fact he’s only thrown 6 interceptions. Maye’s graded as the 4th best passer in the NFL thus far and it’s been a blast to watch him play.
On the defensive side, the Patriots have one of the best run defenses in the league. They rank 2nd in rush yards allowed and 1st in rush yards allowed to opposing RBs. They’ve allowed just one RB to rush for over 60 yards and that was last week when Chase Brown ran for 107 yards and averaged just over 5 yards per carry.
The defense ranks 4th in points allowed this year but dead last in opponent redzone efficiency. They don’t give up a ton of points but they absolutely stink in the redzone. Opponents are converting 73.1% of the redzone trips into touchdowns and they rank 31st in redzone successful pass plays allowed (48.9%).
With the total at 46/47, it feels like even Vegas thinks we’re going to see points in this one.
Monday Night’s Best Bet
Hunter Henry Anytime Touchdown (+210) | BetOnline

I love the big men and I’m not afraid to say it.
Betting NFL TEs is one of my favorite things to do and there’s currently a ton in the NFL to choose from. Hunter Henry’s been great for the Patriots this year. He’s averaging 44.8 yards per game with 41 catches on the year and 5 touchdowns. Henry’s 2nd on the Patriots in target share (18.4%) and first in redzone target share (29.5%).
The big man has become one of Maye’s favorite targets in the redzone and it’s no surprise a to see a Mike Vrabel coached team utilize the TE position so much down here. Vrabel’s a former LB but finished his career with 10 career receiving touchdowns. That’s less surprising when you remember who played for.
Henry’s seeing a 34.6% first read target share in the redzone, but just 20.3% in the offense. When the team makes there way down here, Henry is going to see the ball at least once. He’s recorded a redzone target in 8 of the team’s 12 games and tonight they face a Giants team that sits 31st in redzone defense.
The Giants rank 26th in successful redzone pass plays allowed (40.3%) and have allowed 2+ passing touchdowns in five of their last six games; allowing a total of 13 touchdowns through the air.
