We kicked off the quarterback position this week, exploring FOUR QB’s I’d be willing to take early in drafts. But the mid to late round QB picks is where you can really find value and build a deep NFL fantasy roster. Over the past couple weeks we highlighted the best value picks for the running back and wide receiver positions in NFL fantasy all throughout NFL drafts. Now we will highlight the quarterbacks, a position that isn’t overly scarce in single QB formats, but can still be league winners. So we will need to pick out the true difference makers if you look to snatch a QB early in NFL fantasy drafts, or how to capitalize on grabbing great QB’s late in the draft.
I know, I know. I’m the hockey guy at Betting News. I go by Gretzky Betzky, I host PUCK IT and I eat, breathe and sleep puck. But I’m also an AVID fantasy football nerd who is in two dynasty leagues, partaking in 5+ leagues annually and been addicted to being a fake GM for over 15 years now. In fact, I won the Betting News staff fantasy league last season and came in second place in two other leagues. From draft day on I will watch player ADP like they are stock tickers, hunting down value. And while the NHL is snoozing, I’ll be contributing my NFL expertise in the fantasy football realm.
This will become an ongoing series where I highlight players who REEK of value in fantasy drafts. We aren’t talking about grabbing Ja’Marr Chase with the first overall pick, but instead we are going to be finding gems and value. Each article will feature a position within a range of draft rounds (we will always skip the first round). We will assume that these picks are for 12-team leagues with .5 PPR and will not be discussing in terms of Superflex. On top of that, I’ll highlight a futures bet that corresponds with each player, all of whose odds can be found on BetOnline.
So without further ado, let’s kick it off with NFL fantasy football 2025 mid-round value picks: the quarterbacks. It’s mock draft season baby!!!
1. NFL Fantasy Round 8 Value Quarterbacks: Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray leads the Cardinals into the 2025 NFL Season
Out of Kyler Murray’s six NFL seasons he has had a top 10 finish in the quarterback position four times, including a top three finish. If you are brave enough to ride the Kyler-coaster you could be picking up a top 10 QB in the 8th round of NFL Fantasy drafts, making him a solid QB1 pick late in drafts.Kyler Murray has already shown multiple times that he can produce elite fantasy quarterback numbers when healthy. In his best fantasy seasons (2020 and 2021), Murray was:
-
Top 5 in fantasy points per game
-
Averaging over 26 fantasy points per week in 4-point passing TD formats
-
Posting 800+ rushing yards and 10 rushing scores combined across those two seasons
In 2024, after fully recovering from his ACL injury, we saw flashes of that same explosiveness—especially late in the year, where he averaged over 22 points per game over his final five starts. Now his top wide receiver, Marvin Harrison Jr, has bulked up and is ready to take another step towards becoming a WR1 in the NFL. Trey McBride has already established himself as a top receiving tight end and the Cardinals running backs both have the ability to catch the ball.
So with the weapons being even better and Kyler being healthier than last season, Murray should look to be one of the leagues top dual threats again.. One of Murray’s biggest fantasy advantages is his rushing baseline. Unlike pocket passers, Murray can give you 6–10 points from rushing alone in any given week. That rushing floor makes him far less volatile than many mid-round QBs going in the same NFL draft pick range.
You may get called out when you pick him in your NFL draft, but if Murray and the Arizona Cardinals find their groove again you could be laughing all the way through the playoffs. Kyler Murray is one of my favorite mid-round NFL fantasy picks for a quarterback.
Kyler Murray over 5+ Rushing Touchdowns +115 on BetOnline:
Outside of his rookie season, Kyler Murray has hit this prop in every season he has been healthy, this includes a season he only played 14 games. Now a full year removed from his ACL recovery, Murray could use his feet more and be more dynamic on the ground. With running back James Connor another year older as well, Murray may find the end zone more.

2. NFL Fantasy Round 9 Value Quarterbacks: Caleb Williams

Caleb Williams holds major upside value in NFL fantasy drafts
Sometimes you need to shoot for upside. And when I look at players like CJ Stroud, Purdy and Jordan Love who also can be picked in the 9th round of NFL fantasy, I prefer going for major upside. And I can’t believe I am saying this, but the Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams may just be that player (please don’t say I cursed him Bears fans).
Williams finished as the QB16 in most fantasy leagues. However, rookie quarterbacks often take a noticeable step forward in Year 2 once they’ve adjusted to defensive speed, learned an NFL playbook, and built chemistry with their weapons. Williams now has a full offseason as the entrenched starter, which historically has led to major sophomore breakouts (think Trevor Lawrence in 2022, Jalen Hurts in 2021). This is especially relevant with the coaching changes the Bears made.
The Bears hired Ben Johnson, former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator, as their new head coach. In Detroit, Johnson helped helm an elite scoring attack that led the league in total points in 2024—registering 564 points, the fourth-most in NFL history. Alongside him, the Bears brought in Declan Doyle—recently the Broncos’ tight ends coach—as their offensive coordinator. These hires signal a clear pivot toward a modern, high-powered offense built on creative design and dynamic execution.
Chicago has a slew of weapons for both Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams to capitalize on. Not only do they have veterans like DJ Moore and pass catching running back D’Andre Swift, they have sophomore and highly touted WR Rome Odunze and rookies Luther Burbank and receiving TE Loveland.
Grabbing Caleb Williams with a safer backup option like Geno Smith or Sam Darnold could give you a potential top QB if all goes well. Williams allows you to fill your WR, RB and TE positions before your QB1, while still letting you gamble on having a top 10 QB in NFL fantasy drafts.
Caleb Williams to have 25+ Passing Touchdowns +150 on BetOnline:
Williams only had 20 passing touchdowns. But the Bears struggled out the gates, and it took some time for Williams to flash his upside. He had 6 games which he did not throw a single touchdown, two of which came in the first two games of his NFL career. With a high octane offensive minded coach and a full season under his belt, this future bet feels great at +150. I’m even willing to take it to 30+ Passing Touchdowns at +280.

3. NFL Fantasy Round 10 Value Quarterbacks: Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott is a steal late in NFL Fantasy drafts
Dak Prescott has been a top-tier fantasy quarterback for much of his career, with multiple seasons inside the top-8 in fantasy points per game. In 2024, he delivered:
-
Over 4,300 passing yards
-
30+ total touchdowns
-
A TD-to-INT ratio among the best in the league
Even in seasons with fewer rushing scores, Prescott’s passing volume and efficiency have kept him firmly in QB1 territory. Getting that type of proven production in Round 10 is rare.
The Cowboys’ offensive philosophy under Mike McCarthy leans heavily on Prescott’s arm. Dallas continues to run a high pass rate in neutral game scripts, which means: consistent weekly floor from passing yardage, high spike-week potential when TD passes pile up and reliable volume even in games where the running game struggles. Prescott has averaged over 35 pass attempts per game in each of the last three seasons, giving fantasy managers a steady stream of opportunities for points.
Dak and Cowboys also added a very intriguing weapon in George Pickins. Pickins will allow Prescott to have two very deadly weapons, something he has been missing since Amari Cooper left Dallas. Dak’s best seasons were when he had two viable receivers, finishing as QB3 and QB8 (as well as QB18 in a season which he only played 12 games). The Cowboys still have one of the best offensive lines in the league, so as long as they can protect Dak he has the potential to be a top 10 QB once again, making him a fantastic value pick in NFL Fantasy.
Dak Prescott over 3o+ Passing Touchdowns for +200 on BetOnline:
Full disclosure, Prescott has only hit this prop three times in his career. But he has been on pace to hit it in all four seasons under McCarthey. At a 2x payout this feels like a nice risk. Just like our bet that Prescott can be a top 10 QB in NFL fantasy, Dak’s health is the only concern I have with this prop. But a healthy Dak means his 35+ passing touchdowns at +450 holds even more value. You could even ladder him from 25+, 30+ and 35+ and even sprink 40+ at +1000.
