Analysis & Breakdown

Bird Gang
The Eagles rank 16th in points, 28th in third down conversion rate, 28th in first downs, 28th in passing yards and 17th in rush yards. The offense had looked mediocre by all metrics, yet the Eagles sit at 8-2 and atop the entire NFC. Philly averaging just 5.1 yards per play (21st) this year and a lot of it’s because of the lack of a pass game.
Jalen Hurts has been good but when you watch this team it feels like the offense is stagnant and struggles to move the ball. Philly’s scored just 26 total points across their last two games, despite winning against both the Packers and Lions. The Eagles defense struggled at the start of the year but now they rank 8th in points allowed, 3rd in opponent redzone efficiency and 4th in touchdowns allowed.
Philly’s defense has allowed just 16 points over their last two games and this week they line up against a Cowboys offense they held to just 20 points in Week 1.
Tough Time
After back to back ugly losses, the Cowboys managed to win a game. It was the Raiders, but it was a win nonetheless. Dallas score 33 points, Dak threw for 268 yards and 4 touchdowns. Javonte Williams had 93 yards on the ground and from the opening kickoff to the last play of the game, the Cowboys were in control.
Dallas is now 4-5-1 and still somehow 2nd in the NFC East. It’s unlikely they catch Philly for the divisional crown but if the Cowboys hope to make the playoffs they can’t afford any more losses.
The team’s offense ranks 2nd in points scored (29.6), 2nd in first downs, 1st in pass yards (258.7) and 5th in yards per play. The offensive line has done a great job of protecting Dak and he’s been really good this year. Prescott’s completing nearly 70% of his passes this year, he’s thrown 21 touchdowns and he’s done a great job taking care of the ball with just 6 interceptions.
Prescott’s tied for 2nd in the NFL with his 21 passing touchdowns, he’s 7th in passer rating, 3rd in completion rate and 6th in completions of 20+ yards. He’s got two of the most exciting wideouts in the game in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, both have been thriving this year and torching opposing defenses.
Last week in Las Vegas the two combined for 14 catches, 210 yards and 2 touchdowns. Look for those two to have a similar type impact this week against Philly.

Sunday’s Best Bets
CeeDee Lamb o74.5 Receiving Yards (-110) | BetOnline

CeeDee Lamb’s been one of the best receivers in football this year, when he’s on the field. Lamb’s played in seven games this year, six if you exclude the game in which he was hurt early against Chicago. He’s got 40 receptions for 557 yards and just two touchdowns on the year.
Excluding the game against the Bears’, Lamb’s averaging 10.2 targets, 6.7 receptions and 92.8 receiving yards per game. The Eagles are playing around league averages of both man coverage and zone coverage, slightly leaning toward man usage. Lamb’s seeing a 37.5% target rate against man coverage this year and has had some huge games against Philly.
Lamb’s also recorded 10+ targets in his last six games against the Eagles, recorded 70+ yards in all four games with Dak Prescott under center.
In Week 1 Lamb recorded 7 receptions on 13 targets, finishing the game with 110 yards and no touchdowns. The Cowboys offense stalled after a game stoppage due to lightning and never really found their footing afterward. Lamb also had three drops in that game, some of them just egregious. He’s got five total drops on the year and three came against a divisional opponent in which he still had 110 yards.
With their season on the line, against a division rival; look for CeeDee to make a splash.
