Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles NFL Betting Insights

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles look to defend their Super Bowl Title
The Philadelphia Eagles were dominant all season long last year, and capped it off by obliterating the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl, this stopping their search of a three-peat. During the offseason, the Eagles didn’t lose much, and are certainly reloaded and ready to go this year.
One of the best offensive lines in football returns, along with all of Jalen Hurts’ skill players. However several offensive players are dealing with lingering injuries including both wide receivers, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, TE Dallas Goedert, and the two offensive linemen on the left side in LT Jordan Mailata and LG Landon Dickerson. Nick Sirianni eludes that all should be good to go for Thursday’s divisional showdown.
Now Dallas comes to town after adding wide out George Pickens to pair with CeeDee Lamb to catch passes, but the Cowboys have a new RB in Javonte Williams, and they just traded away Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. They did receive Pro Bowl DT Kenny Clark in the trade, but it will be interesting to see how this defense performs without No. 11 on the field.
Can they pull off an upset and catch the Eagles sleeping? Or at least cover the touchdown and the hook?

Micah Parsons is no longer with the Dallas Cowboys. Can their defense excel without him?
I will be targeting the total in this matchup, because to be honest, the hook is scaring me off of a side. Philly opened as a touchdown favorite, were bet down to -6.5, back up to an even touchdown, and then they started laying the hook after the Micah Parsons trade.
Now what about the total?
It opened at 46.5 and by the looks of it got to 45.5 at one point somewhere. It quickly got bought back to 46 and to 46.5 later that day. But once the Parsons’ news dropped, it shot up to 47 and then 47.5 pretty quickly after the announcement.
Are we convinced Micah Parsons is worth a full point on the Cowboys’ defense?

I think this stays under. It’s the first game of the season, it’s a divisional rivalry, and we have a visiting defense that has plenty of doubters to prove wrong.
Dallas went 3-3 to the total in divisional games last season, while Philadelphia was 4-2 to the under in the regular season, with these two teams going 1-1 to the total in head to head contests. They stayed under 44.5 in November as the Eagles won 34-6, and then went over 37.5 in December when the Eagles won again, 41-7.
Dallas didn’t contribute much offensively in either matchup, and I think it will take some time for them to put points on the board this season. As for the Eagles, sure I expect a little Super Bowl hangover. Offensively, they might be a little rusty as their stars did not play in the preseason.
However the defense will be rock solid.
Again, in this divisional matchup, I think we see defenses show out and be the focus of both game plans, resulting in a low scoring contest. Give me the Eagles to cover in a blowout that stays under, 27-14.
