Analysis & Breakdown

Mariota’s Back
The Washington Commanders came into this season off a Conference Championship appearance and they just haven’t lived up the to the hype they entered the season with. Lot of that has to do with the fact the Commanders just couldn’t stay healthy this year.
Jayden Daniels has played in just seven games this year, Austin Ekeler was lost for the year in Week 2, Terry McLaurin’s played in just six games and now Zach Ertz is done for the year. This doesn’t even account for the injuries they’ve faced on defense so you can see how ugly it’s been for the Commies this year.
In six starts this year, Mariota’s averaging 216 pass yards per game, completing 64.4% of his passes with 9 touchdowns, 5 interceptions and a passer rating of 90.9. Compare that to Daniels, who’s averaging 180.3 pass yards per game with 8 touchdowns, 3 interceptions and a passer rating of 88.1. Mariota’s been great as back up to Daniels and this week against the Giants we could see another big game.
New York, New York
The Giants have their QB of the future, now it’s just about keeping him healthy and on the field. The team’s been hit hard by injuries this year, losing Malik Nabers in Dart’s 1st start and Cam Skatteboo just a few week ago. The offense has looked good but with a new Head Coach search starting the offseason it’s tough to predict what’s going to happen this week.
Last week Dart came back against the Patriots, completing 70.8% of his passes for 139 yards and 1 passing touchdown. He added 20 yards on the ground without a touchdown and the Giants lost 33-15.
Dart threw the ball just 24 times but 16 of those targets went to Wan’Dale Robinson and Theo Johnson. In the backfield we’ve Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary take over in the absence of Skatteboo, but the run game just hasn’t been the same. The Giants also recently parted way with their Defensive Co-ordinator, probably because of the 30th ranked defense and 25th ranked redzone defense.
The offense has been bad but with all the injuries it’s tough to blame them. On the defense, they’ve got the guys but they just haven’t lived up to their billing. I’m excited to see what happens this week against the Commanders.
Sunday’s Best Bets
Terry McLaurin o58.5 Receiving Yards (-107) | Lucky Rebel

Scary Terry is back on the field and in his first two games back he’s recorded 10 catches, on 20 targets, for 137 yards and a touchdown. McLaurin’s most recent game was disappointing, especially with Jayden Daniels returning to the field. He saw 6 targets, catching just 3 for 41 yards and the Commanders offense was completely shut out.
The thing with Terry is his numbers explode with Marcus Mariota under center. In 10 games with Mariota on the field, Terry’s averaging 76.4 receiving yards on 7.7 targets and has a touchdown in 6 of the 10 games. Mariota’s last start came in Denver three weeks ago, McLaurin saw 14 targets, catching 7 for 96 yards and a touchdown. That was against a top three secondary and the reining Defensive Player of the Year; Pat Surtain II.
Mariota forces McLaurin the ball and this week they’ll face a Giants defense that ranks 24th in pass yards allowed, 29th in receiving yards allowed to wideouts and 29th in yards per play. New York’s allowed a pass of 30+ yards in 12 of 13 games and Terry’s the big play guy here in Washington. He’s got a catch of 20+ yards in 9 of the 10 games with Mariota under center.
