The Stank:
This was the first game I marked down on Sunday afternoon. After witnessing one of the wildest victories I’ve ever seen from a lifeless Bears team. The stats are all over social media: it’s the first team to win despite trailing by 17+ points and having fewer than 150 total yards. The Bears capitalized on three Titans turnovers, leading to zero offensive touchdowns. They scored a touchdown off a blocked punt and a pick-six, but their offense contributed nothing to their 24-17 win over the Titans. Tennessee had the ball for nearly ten minutes longer than Chicago.
Another standout stat circulating is that Caleb Williams is the first rookie quarterback taken first overall since 2002 to win his debut. He’s also the only quarterback in the last thirty years to have 25+ pass attempts, under 100 passing yards, a YPA under 3.2, zero touchdowns, and still win a game. The stats are endless—it was a fluke victory. Now the Bears are catching six and a half points on the road against the trendiest team in football, the Houston Texans.

The Bears’ defense got lucky in Week 1, but now they face a legitimate offense that can beat you both through the air with a deep roster of receivers and on the ground with two proven running backs. Houston amassed 417 total yards against the Colts on Sunday, narrowly winning by two points. Quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns, while Joe Mixon rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown, averaging 5.3 yards per carry on 30 attempts.
I don’t see how the Bears can keep up with this fully loaded offense after managing just 148 total yards against the Titans. The entire offense looked disjointed and out of sync. They could come out and shock the nation on Sunday night, but I see the Texans winning by double digits.
Give me the Texans -6.5.
