Analysis & Breakdown

Cardinals Collapse
Last week’s collapse from the Arizona Cardinals will be remembered for a long time. The Cardinals went into the fourth quarter up 21-6, with the ball. Arizona was marching downfield and came to a ‘3rd and 1’ situation at their own 28-yard line. The Cardinals ran the ball up the middle with Emari Demercado and he broke it loose for a 71-yard touchdown, or so he thought.
Demarcado did the unspeakable and started celebrating early, lost control of the ball at the 1-yard line and fumbled it out of the back of the endzone. Instead of a touchdown, Tennessee got the ball back at their own 20-yard line and put up six the other way. After the Titans forced a punt, the Titans were once again in Cardinals territory; right at the 20-yard line. Ward proceeds to throw an interception on ‘3rd and 2’ and the Cardinals defender proceeds to fumble the ball. The ball ends up in the endzone with Tyler Lockett on top of it.
Now with a two point lead and just over four minutes left in the game, the Cardinals get the ball back. Arizona gets to their own 35-yard line before they’re forced to punt, leaving exactly one minute, 53 seconds left in the game. Ward got the ball at his own 18-yard line with a chance at his first career win. It took the Titans seven plays to get into field goal range, where they proceeded to run out the clock and kick the game winning field goal.
An absolute masterclass in disasterclass.
Indiana Jones & the Quest for MVP
Opposite of the Cardinals will be the red hot Indianapolis Colts, lead by their hero; Indiana Jones. Outside of the wicked nickname, Daniel Jones’ play has been elite this season. In his first full season outside of New York, Jones is averaging 258.0 pass yards per game, he’s thrown six touchdowns, rushed for three more and has thrown just two interceptions.
Now that Daniel Jones is behind a real offensive line, he’s putting on a show. The Colts offensive line ranks 2nd in the NFL and have allowed Jones to be sacked just four times. Daniels ranks 3rd in yards per attempt, 5th in completion percentage, 3rd in pass yards and 8th in passer rating. The Colts are 4-1, 3-0 at home and outscoring opponents 102-42 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Cardinals rank 28th in pass yards allowed, 25th in first downs allowed and rank 26th in pass rush grade. Jones has been great both under pressure and when kept clean this year, but without pressure his numbers make a significant jump. When kept clean this year, Jones is completing 77% of his passes with a passer rating of 107.1. If Arizona can’t generate pressure this week, their defense is in for a long day.
Sunday’s Best Bets
Michael Pittman Jr. o53.5 Receiving Yards | BetOnline

Michael Pittman Jr. is the truth and it’s so much fun to watch him play again. Pittman currently leads the Colts in target share, receptions, and touchdowns. He’s an elite wide receiver entering his sixth year in the league and finally playing with a good quarterback. Pittman’s played 16 or more games in every season outside of his rookie year. In those four seasons, Pittman finished with 85+ receptions three times, 1,000 receiving yards twice and has a career high of six touchdowns in one season.
Last year Pittman recorded career lows across the board, averaging just 50.5 yards per game with 69 catches on 111 targets. Most of, if not all of Pittman’s struggles could be attributed to quarterback play. Anthony Richardson struggled to complete even 50% of his passes and after he was benched, Joe Flacco wasn’t any better.
This year with Jones under center, Pittman’s caught 26 of his 35 targets and he’s already got four touchdowns on the year. The emergence of Tyler Warren has also really helped this pass attack diversify and has opened up the field for Pittman. This week in a matchup with Arizona, Pittman should thrive on the outside. Over the first few weeks of the season, the Cardinals have given up 100+ yards to the opposing WR1 in three of their five games.
Tetaroia McMillan finished with 100 yards, Ricky Pearsall with 117 and Calvin Ridley with 131 yards. The two receivers that didn’t hit the century mark still finished with 54 (Olave) and 79 (Smith-Njigba). Arizona’s lack of a pass rush should open up some down field shots for Pittman, who’s already seen five targets of 20+ yards this year. The Cardinals have allowed a play of 34+ yards to the opposition’s WR1 in four straight games.
Lastly, Pittman finished with 1,152 receiving yards in the year he played with Gardener Minshew. This guy is elite and did I mention he’s only in his sixth season.
