This Sunday we’ve got some NFL action as the Cincinnati Bengals travel to California to take on the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers are coming off two straight losses, and will be without QB Brock Purdy. Backup Sam Darnold will lead the San Francisco offense and hope to avoid a three game skid.
The Bengals have seemed to figure it out after their slow start. Since losing two straight to open the season, the Bengals are 3-1 since then, coming off two straight wins.
A banged up 49ers team might have a tough time keeping up with the Bengals offense, but let’s break it down and find our best bets in this game!

Can Burrow keep the Bengals momentum going on the road?
With no Brock Purdy, its hard for me to back the 49ers, even coming off two straight losses. I have no idea how this San Francisco offense will operate with Darnold at the helm.
With Deebo Samuel being out as well, that’s one more weapon gone on this 49ers offense, which has struggled when injured the past two weeks.
After posting just 17 points the past two games, San Francisco will need to put up 20+ to win this game in my mind, but I don’t think that happens.
I’ll be taking a stab at the 49ers team total without Purdy.

Can Cincy’s Defense Shut Down Darnold?
Sam Darnold gets his first start of the season tonight at home!
While this Cincinnati defense isn’t anything super special, they should be able to contain a Purdy-less 49ers team.
They give up nearly 5 yards per rush attempt and over 10 yards per completion, ranking them in the bottom 10 of the league in both stats. However, they get to play the 49ers at the perfect time.
Without their starting QB or top wideout, and coming off a two game skid, the 49ers a spiraling a little bit. I trust Shanahan to get his team under control, however, I think Darnold shows some rust and struggles tonight on the national stage.
Cincinnati has lost two straight to the 49ers, and 4 of the last 5 meetings. There’s a little extra motivation for the Bengals, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they upset San Francisco tonight.
