#10 Texas A&M vs South Carolina: NCAA Football Predictions, odds & Best Bets

Le'Veon Moss leads the Aggies with 343 rushing yards, going for over 5.3 per carry with five touchdowns - Florida Texas A&M Picks

The Texas A&M Aggies sit alone on top of SEC as they are a perfect 5-0 in conference play, but they do have a tough game this weekend. The Aggies travel to South Carolina as the Gamecocks look to spoil their conference title hopes. The Gamecocks are coming off a bye week and a big win at Oklahoma, so being back at home, I expect them to come ready to play.

Like I said, two weeks ago they took down the Sooners on the road, and before that played a tough one against Alabama on the road as well. However their last time out at home was one they want to forget. South Carolina lost to Ole Miss 27-3 their last game at home, and trying to score on the Aggies will be no easy task.

The Aggies are 7-0 since losing to Notre Dame in their opening game, and are right where they want to be. They are on top of the SEC, but are followed closely by 4 different one loss conference teams. A win this weekend is crucial heading into a bye week, and I fully expect Mike Elko to have his guys ready to roll, at least on the defensive side of things. Offensively, Texas A&M has struggled and could definitely see a change at QB on Saturday.

Will the Aggies be able to take down the Gamecocks? Or will South Carolina pull off an upset at home?

Aggies Look for SEC Perfection on the Road

Texas A&M takes on South Carolina this Saturday

The Aggies defense is one of the best units in the country

As far as this game goes, I think defense will dominate. Sure, South Carolina has been competing recently, blowing out the Sooners and taking Alabama down to the last drive, but against a solid defense like Ole Miss, they managed just 3 points. Even with Texas A&M’s offensive struggles, I see the Gamecocks having a hard time moving the ball this weekend.

This Texas A&M defense hasn’t allowed more than 24 points per game this season, and have shut down offenses like LSU and Notre Dame’s so far. I think they have little trouble containing South Carolina on the road this weekend. Do I think the Aggies win? Probably. But as far as backing their offense goes, you can miss me with that.

If I’m Mike Elko, I start Marcel Reed. He is much more mobile than Connor Weigman, and ultimately has done a better job at leading this offense. Reed adds the running QB threat to an otherwise stagnant Aggies offense, giving the team a new found energy that they need on this side of the ball. While the Gamecocks should be able to corral the Aggies offense fair well, I don’t see them pulling out a win.

Defense wins championships, and this weekend I think we see that in South Carolina.

Texas A&M vs South Carolina Prediction:

Best Bets: Under 44 (-115) BetOnline

It’s gross, the number is moving down, but we are still backing the under here. The Aggies defense is absolutely rolling this season, and against an inferior offense, they shouldn’t have many issues.

I don’t see the Gamecocks continuing their offensive production that we’ve seen the past two weeks. Even coming off a bye week, this Aggies defense is the real deal, and is a huge step up compared to Oklahoma and Alabama. I see Texas A&M dominating the defensive side of the ball from start to finish, holding the Gamecocks well under 20 points. Offensively, I am not too worried about the Aggies scoring too many, as I am not very impressed with their production on that side of the ball. Feed me defense this Saturday.
