Rutgers vs USC Predictions
Late night in Southern California, where the Trojans host the Scarlet Knights. USC enters Friday as two-touchdown favorites, looking to bounce back after an embarrassing road loss to Maryland.
Rutgers, meanwhile, has looked lost for two straight weeks. Last week, they let UCLA do whatever they wanted in a game Rutgers should have easily won and covered. Their defense couldn’t get a stop, wasting their offense’s production. The week before, they got blown out by 35 points against Wisconsin—back-to-back home losses. Now they have to travel across the country to face a Trojans squad that’s out for blood after that brutal loss to Maryland, a team that hasn’t faced any real competition.
This should be a game where USC can run it up. The Trojans are averaging nearly 40 points a game at home and have been battle-tested against ranked teams like LSU, Penn State, and Michigan. Rutgers, on the other hand, has yet to face a ranked opponent and has allowed 77 points over the last two weeks at home. Now, they travel to SoCal—it won’t be easy.
USC’s defense has drastically improved, holding teams to under 20 points a game at home. Rutgers has struggled to even score 17+ on the road.
