The SEC brings us a massive top 15 matchup between two one loss teams, who both dropped games to the same opponent. The Alabama Crimson Tide were victorious over the Missouri Tigers and Vanderbilt Commodores, but both teams are still ranked No. 15 and No. 10 in the country, bringing their 6-1 records into this contest. Let’s dive into our favorite picks for the game of the week in College Football.

#15 Missouri Tigers vs. #10 Vanderbilt Commodores Hokies NCAA Football Insights

The Commodores are not only 6-1 overall, they are also 5-2 against the spread. They failed to cover against Alabama in their loss, and only beat Utah State by 20 despite being a 23.5 point favorites. Other than that, they have handled business. This team is fired up but still have a very difficult schedule remaining, with three ranked opponents, two of them on the road. Can they get the job done this weekend against the Tigers?
Missouri started off playing six straight games at home, only losing to Alabama. Finally, last week they traveled to Auburn and beat the other Tigers in overtime. Now they are on the road again in Nashville in this Top 15 SEC Showdown. The Tigers covered three straight to start the year, but are now just 4-3 ATS. But both teams have been trending in the direction of overs. Could that mean we see plenty of points?

Spread
- Missouri +2.5 (-103)
- Vanderbilt -2.5 (-117)

- Missouri +120
- Vanderbilt -140
Total
- Over 53.5 (+100)
- Under 53.5 (-120)
While I do think Missouri is the better team, I am not going to fade Diego Pavia. He has the Commodores locked and loaded, and could will their way into the conference championship, or even the College Football Playoff with their resume. All they need to do is handle business from here on out. But this weekend is a tall task, and I’ll be backing the other quarterback in this one.
#15 Missouri vs. #10 Vanderbilt NCAA Football Picks and Predictions

Beau Pribula and the Tigers face the Commodores in Nashville
Missouri vs. Vanderbilt Prediction: Missouri Wins Outright, Over 53.5
Best Bet: Beau Pribula Over 25.5 Rushing Yards (-115) BetOnline
As always, do your line shopping as there are some 28.5s out there. Get the best number, every yard matters. Sticking with the 26+ marker, here’s how Pribula has performed this year.
He’s cleared this line in 4/7 games, going for 60+ yards in three contests as well. If he has double digit carries, he’s gone over this number, doing so in all three games with 10+ rushing attempts. In his last two, he’s been running even more, with 27 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Pribula has found a 12 yard rush in 6/7 games, and a 20 yard rush in 3/7 as well, including his last two.
Now, Vanderbilt has had their struggles containing quarterbacks, plus, their entire focus should be on slowing down running back Ahmad Hardy, who carries the ball over 20 times per game.
Vanderbilt vs. Mobile QBs
- Kyron Drones (VT): 13-36-1, Long 27
- Bryson Barnes (USU): 10-48, Long 18
- Ty Simpson (BAMA): 13 yard rush
Pribula is not afraid to use his legs. Sure, he’s taken tons of sacks, but he also escapes plenty, and with the Commodores likely selling out to stop Hardy, Pribula could break out in the other direction with lots of green grass in front of him. He’s covered this number in three straight games against teams with a pulse, going for 28 against Auburn, 61 against Alabama, and 72 against South Carolina while taking six sacks throughout those games.
Vandy doesn’t get to the quarterback all that often, and even if they do, Pribula has the tools to escape.
