Missouri State vs. New Mexico State – October 22
After last night’s debacle with Western Kentucky’s quarterback Maverick McIvor sitting out due to a surprise injury that no one seemed to know about until kickoff, I am hoping for no last-minute chaos tonight with New Mexico’s staring lineup. I am all over Aggies quarterback Logan Fife to go over his passing yards prop against Missouri State.
The six-foot senior gunslinger has been excellent this season, throwing for more than 1,500 yards and eight touchdowns. His pass yards prop keeps dropping as I write. I grabbed over 249.5 passing yards this morning, but it is now down to 242.5. I also took his alternate line at 300 yards for a little extra sweat. McIvor just threw for over 300 against this same Bears defense, and I think this is another spot where Fife can shine.
Fife vs. Missouri State
Fife is averaging 252 passing yards and 35 attempts per game, and the Aggies rank 25th nationally in pass attempts. He has gone over this prop in four of six games this season.
Missouri State’s pass defense has been a problem, ranking 111th in the nation and allowing about 262 passing yards per game. Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky, and SMU, three high-volume passing teams (all top 35 in pass attempts), each went over 250 yards through the air against them.
New Mexico State ranks 129th in rushing attempts, averaging only 28 runs per game. That means this matchup sets up perfectly for Fife and the Aggies to attack through the air. I expect a big night from his arm and another strong showing for New Mexico State’s passing game.
All signs point to Fife taking full advantage of a weak Missouri State secondary. The Aggies are built to throw, and he has proven capable of producing when given volume. With steady accuracy and confidence in the pocket, he should have every chance to pile up yards early and often. Look for New Mexico State to rely on Fife to control the game and clear his passing yard mark once again.
Best Bet: Logan Fife Over 249.5 Pass Yards (-120) odds via BetOnline
