We’ve got some Tiger on Tiger crime happening at Auburn this weekend as the unranked hosts take on No. 16 ranked Missouri when they come to town. This will be Mizzou’s first time leaving Columbia this season, as they have somehow stayed at home for the entire first half of the year. On the flip side, Auburn started off 3-0 but have now lost three straight to start SEC play, all against ranked opponents. Will they be able to rally for this home win? Let’s get into our favorite picks and find out.

Auburn beat Baylor on the road, and followed that up with wins over Ball State and South Alabama. But then they had to face some real opponents. Auburn lost on the road in Norman, but did have the ball with a chance to take the lead on the final drive before blowing the cover. They lost by just six points to a Texas A&M team at Kyle Field, and then most recently lost to the Georgia Bulldogs after being shutout in the second half. Things are grim, but once again Hugh Freeze and company could play spoiler. Despite morale being low, they could be in a dangerous position.
Especially facing a Missouri team that has never left home this season. Mizzou started the year playing six straight games at Faurot Field, with wins over Kansas and South Carolina and three cupcake teams. Now, they just lost (but covered) to the Alabama Crimson Tide, and their season is far from over. But they’ll need to show up on the road.

This line has had some weird movement. Auburn actually opened as a 2.5 point favorite on Sunday, and were quickly bought down to just 1.5. Then on Monday this line flipped, from Auburn -1.5 to the hosts +1.5, crossing zero with a three point jump. Now, as you can see, Mizzou is favored by two.
Clearly someone really liked Missouri, and I do as well. Despite them being on the road for the first time, I have much more faith in them than Auburn, especially coming off a loss. However, I’ll stick with my play on the total.
#16 Missouri vs. Auburn NCAA Football Picks and Predictions

Beau Pribula is going to need to use his arm against Auburn this weekend

Both of these defenses are top three in the nation in yards allowed per carry, giving up less than three yards per rush. Neither will have much success on the ground, which means these quarterbacks are going to have to sling the pill and move the ball in chunks. Auburn’s season is over, but they could still play spoiler and have to fight to make a bowl game. They’ll have plenty of motivation as they are searching for their first SEC win.
On the other sideline, Missouri is a rock solid football team. They have handled business in nearly every game this year, but again, this is their first road test. I don’t see them being able to rely on Ahmad Hardy’s legs like they have in prior contests, so Beau Pribula will need to make some plays.
As far as trends go, Auburn is 1-5 to the over this season, with only their contest at Baylor to start the season clearing the line. However, Missouri is 5-1 to the over, only not clearing when they beat Massachusetts 42-6. I think both offenses will engage in some back and forth as both try their hardest to come out with a much needed win.
