Marshall vs. Coastal Carolina: Odds & Player Props | October 30, 2025

Some people will be tuned into the NFL Thursday Night Football matchup between the Ravens and Dolphins, which may not be the most exciting viewing. If you are looking for Thursday night bets, our own Varum Sharma broke down that game perfectly on our website. Meanwhile, the Sun Belt, or as many call it, the Fun Belt, delivers a far more entertaining option tonight. Marshall visits Coastal Carolina in a matchup of two 4-3 teams that should produce an exciting, back-and-forth game. Both squads are coming off consecutive wins, with the Thundering Herd defeating Texas State and Old Dominion, while the Chanticleers have beaten App State and Louisiana Monroe. This one has all the ingredients for a high-energy, ground-focused clash with plenty of betting angles to explore.

Marshall vs. Coastal Carolina – October 31

Some people will be tuned into the snoozefest that is the NFL Thursday Night Football matchup between the Ravens and Dolphins. Our own Varum Sharma did a phenomenal job breaking down that game on our website, so if you are looking for more Thursday night bets, he has you covered.

Back to the Sun Belt, or as we like to call it, the Fun Belt. Tonight’s matchup between 4-3 Marshall and 4-3 Coastal Carolina should be an entertaining one. The Thundering Herd come into this game riding back-to-back wins over Texas State and Old Dominion. Meanwhile, the Chanticleers are on a similar run, taking down App State and Louisiana Monroe in their last two.

As for a side, I would lean toward the Herd, but my focus is on a player prop. I like Marshall quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson to surpass 63.5 rushing yards tonight against a weak Coastal Carolina run defense.

Del Rio-Wilson vs. Coastal Carolina Defense

The junior quarterback has been on a tear this season, rushing for over 340 yards and four touchdowns. He is averaging about 14 attempts and 58 rushing yards per game, but over his last three outings, his workload has jumped significantly, up to 18 attempts and 88 rushing yards per game. Marshall runs the ball more than 61%  of the time, ranking tenth nationally in rushing attempts per game.

Coastal Carolina has faced plenty of rushing attacks, with opponents averaging around 41 attempts per game. Marshall averages 43. The Chanticleers rank 113th in rushing yards allowed per game, giving up nearly 195 yards on the ground, and 97th in yards allowed per carry at 4.7. They have also struggled against mobile quarterbacks. In their most recent games, both App State and Old Dominion quarterbacks topped 66 rushing yards, despite both teams running the ball less than Marshall.

Del Rio-Wilson’s rushing ability gives Marshall a real edge in this matchup. Coastal Carolina has had issues all season containing mobile quarterbacks, and this feels like another opportunity for that weakness to show. The Herd’s commitment to the ground game should lead to plenty of designed runs and scrambles for their junior signal-caller. With his workload rising and the Chanticleers’ defense continuing to give up chunk plays on the ground, Del Rio-Wilson has every chance to clear his rushing line with ease. Expect him to be the difference tonight as Marshall looks to extend its streak and keep rolling in the Fun Belt.

Del Rio-Wilson has yet to record a 100-yard rushing game this season, but this feels like the perfect spot for him to break through. I strongly recommend laddering his rushing prop up to 100 yards.

Best Bet: Carlos Del Rio-Wilson Over 63.5 Rush Yards (-114) odds via BetOnline
