Life for the Colorado Buffaloes begins without their Heisman winner and finalist in Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. Nevertheless, Deion Sanders is back to lead the Buffs to the top of the Big 12, something they haven’t quite done since he took over the program. Moving on from those two playmakers is going to be tough, especially when looking at their Week 1 matchup at home. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets visit Boulder with one of the most experienced offenses in all of college football. Deion Sanders begins life at Colorado without Shedeur or Hunter
Last season, Georgia Tech started off the season by pulling off a huge upset in Dublin, beating the No. 10 ranked Florida State Seminoles outright. They strung together a few more wins throughout the season, including knocking off No. 4 Miami at home, 28-23. They also ended the regular season against No. 7 Georgia, getting into an eight overtime thriller before the Bulldogs pulled it out.
Georgia Tech went on to lose in the Birmingham Bowl to Vanderbilt, but return plenty of starters. Quarterback Haynes King and running back Jamal Haynes are a very deadly 1-2 punch in the backfield, and I expect them to run all over Colorado on Friday night.
As for the Buffaloes, Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter is a dual threat by himself, and looks to show he can play at the Power Four level. Colorado has a completely new offensive line looking to protect Salter, compared to an O-Line that ranked in the bottom 10 in sacks allowed last year, giving up over 3.5 per game.

As I eluded to above, I will be leaning towards Georgia Tech and looking for their rushing attack to take full advantage in this contest.
Georgia Tech ranked No. 26 in rushing yards per game last year, going for over 187 on the ground per contest, while ranking No. 37 in rushing play percentage. The Yellow Jackets ran the ball over 56% of the time, and with Haynes (Jamal) and King (Haynes) back there, I would do the same thing.
Pounding the ground was what worked for Georgia Tech last season, and I think it continues into this year. As for Colorado, they have to replace tons of production on both sides of the ball, and I think this Week 1 challenge will be too much for them to handle.

We will be backing the Yellow Jackets. This team has way too much experience carrying over from last season, and won’t need extra weeks for their offense to gel. Georgia Tech was competitive in nearly every contest last year, and I believe this team could be sneaky in the ACC as well.
Clemson, Miami, SMU and Louisville will be the talk of the conference, but the Yellow Jackets are going to make sure people put respect on their name. I see them using their ground game to chew up clock, put together very long drives down the field, tiring out the Buffaloes’ defense and keeping their offense on the sidelines.
Give me Georgia Tech to cover, behind the legs of their star quarterback, returning nine other offensive starters.
Best Player Prop: Haynes King Over 36.5 Rushing Yards (-114) BetOnline
We are taking Haynes King to go over his rushing yards prop, and we have also laddered him up to 50+ for (+154) as well.
This guy is a bulldozer when he carries the ball, similar to Josh Allen, and isn’t afraid of lowering his shoulder into some contact for a few extra yards.
Last season, the Buffaloes allowed 170 yards on the ground at home, ranking No. 61 in the nation. They also gave up 4.1 yards per carry, and despite ranking top 10 in sacks per game, Haynes King only took six total sacks last year. Georgia Tech ranked No. 3 in sacks allowed, giving up less than one per contest.
Now, despite averaging 53.4 rushing yards per game, King only cleared this line in 6/11 contests. So when he goes over, he really clears, which is why we laddered him up to 50. He should see double digit carries, which should be more than enough to go over this number, considering the Buffaloes couldn’t contain mobile QBs last season.
I also expect Georgia Tech to lead most of this game, meaning they’ll really run the ball to keep that clock moving. It wouldn’t surprise me if over 60% of their play calls kept the ball on the ground.

Dual threat quarterbacks had no problem putting up 50 yards with their legs against the Buffaloes last season. With a top tier veteran runner like Haynes King, he shouldn’t have an issues clearing this line for us either.
