Florida State Seminoles vs. NC State Wolfpack NCAA Football Insights

Tommy Castellanos and the Seminoles have been horrendous on the road this year - Florida State NC State Picks

Tommy Castellanos and the Seminoles have been horrendous on the road this year

Florida State started the season on top of the world by knocking off No. 8 Alabama by 14 points as two touchdown underdogs at home. That kicked off three straight wins before things came to a crashing halt. The Seminoles lost in double overtime to the Virginia Cavaliers, followed by losses to Miami, Pittsburgh and Stanford for four straight blemishes to their record. They’ve won two out of their last three to get back to .500 on the season, but with two tough road games to end the year, things aren’t looking bright.

NC State also started off with three wins before losing four of their next five games. The Wolfpack had a huge win over No. 8 Georgia Tech at home, 48-36, but were blown out by the Hurricanes last week. Now they face the Seminoles with both teams battling for a win to make them eligible for the postseason. But the Wolfpack do have a much easier opponent next weekend.

Florida State vs. NC State Prediction: NC State Wins Outright, Over 59.5

Best Bet: NC State Team Total Over 27.5 (-115) BetOnline

I would advise you to try and get 26.5 if you can. Anything under 28 is fine, but 27 is still a key number as well, and as I am typing this there is a book hanging 26.5. Regardless, NC State should be able to put up some points. They score over 30 at home and over a touchdown more than on the road. Defensively, the Wolfpack are bad, so let’s take that side of the ball out of the equation.

The Wolfpack rank top 40 in yards per play, and are top 20 in completion percentage as well. This team is No. 13 in red zone scoring percentage, punching the ball across the goal line over 92% of the time they reach the promised land. Florida State is 0-3 on the road, and they are allowing 30 points per game to their opponents. While the defense is solid defending the run, they struggle in the secondary, ranking north of 60 in opponent completion percentage, yards per pass allowed and are No. 75 in red zone scoring allowed as well. NC State is a team that throws the ball over 52% of the time, ranking top 40 in pass play percentage.

They should have some success tonight airing it out on offense, resulting in enough points to cover this number.
