The Billy Napier-less Florida Gators head to Oxford to take on one of their new coaching candidates and the No. 7 ranked Ole Miss Rebels. Now, I am just kidding, Lane Kiffin isn’t leaving Ole Miss, especially not for Gainesville, but the two schools go head to head, and I believe the coach has an opportunity to do one of the funniest things imaginable. Let’s get into my favorite picks in this SEC showdown and figure out if my hilarious prediction will come true.

Florida Gators vs. #7 Ole Miss Rebels NCAA Football Insights

DJ Lagway and the Gators have been disappointing all season long
The Florida Gators have been absolutely horrendous this season. They are just 3-6 straight up and against the spread, but are 0-4 in away games this season. Sure, they covered against Georgia in Jacksonville, but Gunner Stockton could have scored the touchdown to stretch the spread if he wanted to. Regardless, there’s no reason to have any faith in the Gators, especially on the road.
Ole Miss has lost only to Georgia, in a game where their defense fell apart in the second half. Since then, the Rebels have allowed just 40 total points in their last three games, winning every contest. The team is just 6-4 against the spread this year, but Kentucky covered with a time expiring, meaningless field goal. They were clearly looking ahead to Georgia (where they melted away a cover) against Washington State, and then they shutout the Citadel 49-0 as 51 point favorites. This team is over performing expectations constantly this season, and I see them continuing to roll.

Florida vs. Ole Miss Prediction: Ole Miss Wins and Covers, Under 53.5
Best Bet: Ole Miss -11.5 (-108) BetOnline
You’ve heard me write about getting a better number than advertised, well this time I jumped the gun too early. I am rolling with the Rebels -13.5 (-120) which I booked prior to writing this article (and the line movement), so go ahead and get a better number than I did as Ole Miss rolls in this contest.
The Rebels are heading into a bye before the Egg Bowl to close the season. They are top 25 in third down conversions on both sides of the football and their secondary is better than the defensive trench unit. Florida will need to throw as they will be playing from behind, but I do not see them being capable of doing that. The Gators are bottom 10 in scoring and third down conversion offensively (bottom 20 on defense), and rank bottom 40 in both yards per carry and yards per pass. They have no offense whatsoever.
Away from home this year, they are allowing 29.5 points per game while only scoring 10.3 themselves, plus they just gave up 38 to Kentucky. Imagine what this Ole Miss offense will be able to do against them. As for the Florida head coaching vacancy, Kiffin’s name has been swirling around the rumor mill. However I do not believe he leaves Oxford, but I do believe he runs up the score this weekend to really put any stories to bed. Hotty Toddy!
