NC State Wolfpack vs. #15 Miami Hurricanes NCAA Football Player Props

Malachi Toney leads the Hurricanes in receptions and yards this year - NCAA Football Player Props

Malachi Toney leads the Hurricanes in receptions and yards this year

Best Bet: Malachi Toney (MIA) Over 62.5 Receiving Yards (-114) BetOnline

The freshman Toney leads the Hurricanes in receptions and receiving yards this year with 54 catches for 644 yards. That accounts for over 26.4% of the team’s yards and catches, and it is over 20 more receptions than the next leading pass catcher, and over 250 yards more as well. He’s the go to guy through the air.

NC State plays to a ton of points in every game, because they don’t have the defense to back it up. Miami still needs to wow the committee, so not only do they need a win, they need to be dominant and convincing, which includes running up the score when possible. Which leads me to Toney getting plenty of catches against a bad secondary.

NC State is bottom 10 in third down conversions, so the Miami offense should stay on the field plenty. The Wolfpack secondary is bottom 20 in yards per pass, giving up 8.3, bottom 15 in sack percentage, so Beck will have tons of time, and they are dead last in passing yards allowed per game, letting opposing quarterbacks throw for 313.9 per contest.

Beck will air it out plenty, and he’ll have his top guy who has cleared in six of nine games this season. Toney is averaging six catches a game for over 70 yards already, and NC State have had trouble covering pass catchers.

So far this season, the Wolfpack have allowed the following receiving yards to each team’s leading receiver.

Leading Receiver Yards vs. NC State

  • East Carolina: 98 yards
  • Virginia: 68 yards
  • Wake Forest: 76 yards
  • Duke: 65 yards
  • Virginia Tech: 44 yards
  • Campbell: 24 yards
  • Notre Dame: 109 yards
  • Pittsburgh: 120 yards
  • Georgia Tech: 110 yards

NC State’s opposing leading receiver has cleared this line in 7/9 games, including going for triple digits in the last three. Toney should have a career day on Saturday.

TCU Horned Frogs vs. #12 BYU Cougars NCAA Football Player Props

Josh Hoover and TCU need a bounce back win against BYU - NCAA Football Player Props

Josh Hoover and TCU need a bounce back win against BYU

Best Bet: Josh Hoover (TCU) Over 259.5 Passing Yards (-115) BetOnline

This is turning into a weekly bet for us, as Hoover cashed last week at a higher number and we are going right back to him. This is the definition of a bounce back spot for BYU, and honestly, I think they dominate. All that means is more passing for the Horned Frogs who already love to air it out.

TCU is top 20 in the nation in pass play percentage, dropping back almost 56% of the time. They are top 12 in both passes and passing yards per game, and Hoover takes very few sacks. He’s cleared 260 passing yards in six of nine games this season, going for 300 four separate times, including last game. Just to illustrate the volume, here’s his season averages per game.

  • 24.3 completions
  • 37.2 attempts
  • 298.9 yards
  • 2.56 TDs
  • 0.9 INTs

He’s already had three games where he dropped back over 40 times, but just one with 30 completions. In this game Saturday, he’s going to need to be throwing the ball to try and get the Horned Frogs back into this game they probably trail by two scores.
