#23 USC vs. Nebraska: Odds & Insights | November 1, 2025

November football has arrived, and we are starting the month with a matchup that sounds like it was ripped straight from your dad’s glory days, No. 23 USC heading to Lincoln to take on Nebraska. The Trojans enter fresh off a bye week and are eager to bounce back after a tough loss to Notre Dame. This game presents the perfect opportunity for USC to reset and remind everyone of its upside on both sides of the ball. Nebraska, meanwhile, comes in off a win over Northwestern and will look to defend its home turf in front of a fired-up crowd.

The Cornhuskers have shown flashes of progress this season but still struggle with consistency and turnovers. USC has faced a far tougher schedule and should be well-prepared for whatever Nebraska throws at them. It might not be a historic rivalry, but this matchup has the makings of a gritty November battle.

#23 USC vs. Nebraska – November 1

Welcome to November, where we kick off the month with your father’s two favorite Big Ten teams: No. 23 USC and Nebraska. I am sure, like my dad, yours still talks about that classic 2024 matchup, the one where USC took down Nebraska 26-20 in Los Angeles. The memory feels so distant, it is easy to forget just how deep this “rivalry” runs. If my sarcasm has not been obvious yet, I hope it is now.

This is one of my favorite looks of the week. Nebraska enters fresh off a home win over Northwestern, while USC comes in rested after a bye and eager to shake off the frustration from their loss to Notre Dame two weeks ago.

I am currently punching air as I type this, since I grabbed USC at -6.5 earlier in the week and the line has since dropped to -5. Congratulations to anyone who beat me to better CLV.

Battle Tested Trojans

I think this sets up as the perfect get-right spot for the Trojans, even on the road. They have been far more battle-tested, losing at Illinois, beating Michigan, and falling to Notre Dame, a stretch that reveals far more than Nebraska’s recent run of scraping by Maryland on the road, losing at Minnesota, and beating Northwestern. None of those games inspire much confidence, especially with a quarterback who has struggled to protect the football.

Nebraska ranks 80th nationally in interception percentage, and Dylan Raiola has not thrown for over 200 yards in back-to-back weeks. In the win over Northwestern, he finished with just 141 passing yards. Meanwhile, USC’s defense has quietly been excellent against the pass, 16th in opponent interception rate and 13th in sack percentage. If they can keep Raiola under pressure, I expect him to make mistakes and give the Trojans’ offense plenty of short fields to work with.

With the Trojans fresh off a bye, this feels like the ideal spot for them to regroup and deliver a statement performance. Lincoln is never an easy place to play, but this roster has faced tougher environments and better teams all year long. Expect USC to come in refocused, energized, and ready to remind everyone why they are still one of the most talented teams in the conference. If the defense forces Raiola into mistakes and the offense finds rhythm early, the Trojans should have more than enough firepower to show up and show out in Lincoln.
