TCU vs Cincinnati Prediction:

Cincinnati Head Coach, Wes Miller instructing his players
We have gathered here today to fade yet another storm. On Saturday, the Horned Frogs upset No. 2 Houston 68-67. After the game it was pure mayhem, the TCU faithful stormed the court in celebration of the upset victory. Storming the court is like blood in a pool infested with sharks and I am the sharks. I automatically have to do research on this game to see if it worthy of a fade. Let’s see if it is…

The Stank:
Coming off back-to-back losses, the Bearcats prepare to get themselves back on track against the TCU Horned Frogs. At home this season Cincinnati is 10-1, their only loss came against Texas. Outside of that one loss, the Bearcats have played some solid ball at home. They are inside the top 100 in a plethora of offensive and defensive categories. Some notable rankings, the Bearcats are seventh in defensive rebound percentage and 32nd in defensive adjusted efficiency, according to Bart Torvik’s rankings.
Meanwhile, TCU on the road this season is not playing their best ball. Their away/home splits are very different. They are ranked outside of the top 100 in a lot of defensive categories. The Horned Frogs foul a lot, 325th in free throw rate in road/neutral matchups. However, they are still very solid offensively, as they are well inside the top 50 in a lot of offensive categories.
I think the Cincinnati fans will be ready to go Tuesday night, they have a significant home-court advantage. They are 50th in away/home court advantage, according to Haslametrics. We have seen time and time again the impact that fans have had on road teams’ performances. This will be huge for the Bearcats to feed off the energy of the home crowd. Just look at how hungry those Nebraska fans were last week when they hosted Purdue. MAYHEM.
TCU does prefer to run at a faster pace, but home teams typically own the pace of play. I think this will be one of the more competitive games on the slate, with the Bearcats coming out on top.
Prediction: Cincinnati Wins
Concerns: Cincinnati has not had much success against top 100 schools. However, I am expecting the Horned Frogs to have a bit of an off night coming off their huge victory over the Cougars. Which is why I will happily be taking the Bearcats at home. It is indeed worthy of a fade.
