We are looking for every possible way to fade both of these teams in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

First, Notre Dame is coming off a grueling four-overtime, 112-110 win over Cal on Saturday. They essentially played two full games that day, and with the quick turnaround to Tuesday morning, they should come out sluggish.

Second, Pitt is coming off a 93-67 win over Boston College. The Panthers typically average around 80 points per game at home, but 93 is an outlier for a team that plays at such a slow pace. They benefitted from facing the 281st-ranked road defense. Now, they will be up against a unit nearly 150 spots ahead of Boston College.

The pace in this game should be as slow as your parents on Christmas morning—slow. Both teams rank in the bottom 90 in tempo. On the road, Notre Dame has been even slower, sitting at 324th in pace, per Bart Torvik.

I am banking on both offenses to come out sluggish after big weekends and quick turnarounds to start conference play. The last time these teams met on February 22, both scored over 70 points, and the total soared over. This time, I see it staying under 65 points apiece.
