Tons of other teams go head to head as well, and we are in for a treat on the hardwood, especially with this one. The No. 4 ranked Duke Blue Devils host the No. 15 Florida Gators at Cameron Indoor Stadium tonight. Can the Blue Devils remain perfect? Or can the Gators chomp their way to a big win after some early season struggles. Let’s find out with our favorite picks.

#15 Florida Gators vs. #4 Duke Blue Devils NCAA Basketball Insights

Duke has been perfect all year. They have wins over Kansas (at Madison Square Garden) and Arkansas (at the United Center), but this will be their toughest opponent at home. But I think the Cameron Crazies will be prepared and make it tough on Todd Golden’s team. Duke covered the spread in their first six wins, but have failed to do so in their last two, despite winning by 37 and nine. Plus, Jon Scheyer’s team has to go to East Lansing on Saturday, so could they be looking ahead to facing Tom Izzo’s team on the road?

The defending national champions lost their opener to Arizona and recently dropped a game to TCU during the Rady Children’s Invitational in San Diego during Feast Week. They already bounced back with a win in the consolation game of that tournament, but now face one of the best teams in the entire nation.

Florida will certainly try to run in this game, but can they do so against Duke on the road? Bart Torvik has Duke ranked as No. 180 in pace, putting them in the top half, meaning we should get plenty of possessions. Florida is inside the top 50, and will likely play some small ball tonight.

The Blue Devils may be too versatile to have both Reuben Chinyelu and Alex Condon on the floor at the same time, so you could see a trio of guards followed by Thomas Haugh at the stretch 4 and Condon playing the 5. This would match him up against Patrick Ngongba, allowing Haugh to defend Cameron Boozer, leading me to my favorite player prop.

Florida vs. Duke Prediction: Duke Wins, Florida Covers, Over 157.5

Best Bet: Alex Condon (FLA) OVer 7.5 Rebounds (+105) BetOnline

I expect us to see over 70 possessions in this game, probably closer to 72-75. This should give us ample opportunity to cash this wager, and like I eluded to above, Condon should be on the floor plenty.

He didn’t play in their last game against the Friars, but he will be good to go tonight. Condon is third on the team in minutes, almost getting 30 per game. This is more than any other Gator big man, besides Haugh who is playing more of a wing this season anyways. Condon averages 8.8 boards per game this year, and has had at least eight in five of six contests.

As I said above, he should be stuck guarding Ngongba, meaning he will be under the bucket most of the defensive possession. This puts him in the perfect position to grab some boards, which he will surely do considering his size will be a big advantage. But I do think Duke gets the last laugh with a win.
