With one college hoops wager still pending as I type this (it’s not looking good), we have already moved on. Sunday doesn’t have the most appealing matchups but we will still had to dig deep and find our favorite NCAA Basketball picks. Let’s get right into what we’re wagering on for Sunday on the college hardwood.
We have had a very successful CBB betting season so far, let’s keep it going.

Best NCAA Basketball Picks and Predictions December 7
Fairfield Stags vs. Merrimack Warriors Picks NCAA Basketball Picks
Best Bet: Fairfield/Merrimack Under 143.5 (-110) BetOnline
I liked this wager at 142.5, but literally just watched the line climb a point (and two elsewhere), so I’m going to wait until closer to tip off to bet this. But let’s break it down.
The Stags and Warriors go head to head at Lawler Arena in both team’s second MAAC matchup. Fairfield lost their conference opener on the road, while Merrimack is coming off a win against Rider. The visitors can’t shoot and struggle to get to the free throw line. Plus, they can’t shoot 2s, but refuse to shoot from beyond the arc. Fairfield is north of 300 in eFG%, FT rate, and 2P%. But they take care of the basketball, aren’t overly quick, and don’t give up offensive rebounds.
The hosts are one of the slowest teams in the country, coming in ranked No. 317 in pace. The Warriors are at home, so they will control the tempo of this game, and they waste most of their offensive possessions anyways. That is, after taking up the entire shot clock. Merrimack ranks top 15 in the country in the 3P rate, which wouldn’t be a problem, if they knocked them down. Instead, the team ranks No. 292 in 3P%, shooting less than 30% from deep as a team.
This will be a slow game involving bad offenses, so give me the under.
LSU Tigers vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders NCAA Basketball Picks

JT Toppin and Texas Tech take on the LSU Tigers in Fort Worth this Sunday
Best Bet: Texas Tech -6 (-110) BetOnline
I wish I snagged this at -4.5 when I originally wrote it down, however the Red Raiders are still good for the cover. Although this isn’t a home game for Texas Tech, it’s still in the state, plus JT Toppin is playing back where he grew up, giving him a little extra mojo. Texas Tech is north of 200 in pace, but LSU likes to run, so expect a few extra offensive possessions for this efficient Red Raider offense.
The LSU Tigers come into this game with an 8-0 record… but who have they played? Nobody!! Despite eight wins, they have zero against top 115 teams, with the Red Raiders being their toughest opponent to date by a long shot. Get ready for a rude awakening. Sure, LSU is 5-3 against the spread, but Texas Tech is well rested, and close to home. I see Toppin having another dominating performance in front of plenty of family, leading his team to a big win. The fact that this jumped from 4.5 to 6 in just half an hour is also telling. Give me Tech.
Cornell vs. Samford NCAA Basketball Picks
Best Bet: Cornell -2.5 (-110) BetOnline
Backing the short road favorite usually doesn’t go well, but I can’t get over the numbers in this game. Samford hosts and will try and keep a slow pace in this game, but Cornell will do the opposite. The Bulldogs are No. 286 in tempo this year, they don’t offensive rebound and are north of 300 in eFG%. Despite ranking top 50 in 3P Rate, they shoot just 30% from deep, and defensively are bottom 70 in adjusted efficiency and turnovers forced.
The Big Red can perfectly counter. Cornell is No. 11 in the country in pace, assist rate, and 3P rate. They are No. 10 in eFG% and No. 8 in 3P%, shooting over 41% as a team, not to mention 60% from inside the arc (top 30 in the country). Offensively, they only need to work on crashing the glass, but the sharp shooting from deep should be enough to win this game and cover this number. Samford is bottom 20 in the country in 3P% defense, letting their opponents shoot over 39% from downtown.
Go Big Red (Cornell).
